It seems like the OP is satisfied that her problem is resolved. I hope she returns to the forum eventually to learn how to care for a lawn. I admit a little knowledge is dangerous (and I have a little knowledge), but I'm also experienced enough to know that the lawn companies, even the reputable ones, will do things to the lawn that aren't necessary, but cost the homeowner money. A little knowledge and a little effort to learn can save a lot of cash -- probably more cash would be saved than the cost to irrigate the lawn correctly, which was the OP's complaint early on. Case in point: The landscaper who regraded and seeded my property came to me to see if I wanted his company to maintain my property - leaf blowing, lawn care, and so on. I asked him a few questions, including whether it was a good idea to fertilize in the fall. He kind of shrugged his shoulders and said, "You can if you want to." Case 2 in point: My neighbor is the largest landscaper/designer in the whole area - huge staff, very professional operation. He dug up an 8x35' section of his front lawn (bordering my lawn) in the process in installing a pool in the back yard (heavy equipment going to the back yard ruined the lawn). He sodded the dug up area in May (KBG). He let it all die and then replaced it with the blown type seed (not sod). He let that all die in June after half of it germinated and then last week, the second week in JULY, he puts down sod AGAIN. Amazingly he has underground irrigation and actually used it the first day he put the sod down. That was last Saturday, exactly a week ago and I have yet to see the irrigation system kick on again. Two days ago they mowed the lawn to no more than 2 inches, and even scalped parts of the sod (yes, they ran over newly laid sod with one of those commercial mowers). So as I look out the window I'd say half the sod is brown and the other half is looking stressed. He told me they used his property to advertise their business. He just didn't tell me they were advertising what NOT to do. Go figure...

Brseaton- thank you for the input. But it's been almost 2 months and no germination at all. I had 5 shoot a small root out of the Super Pink and 3 terminated from that point on. 2 are left, one has very tiny leaves at 1 1/2 inches, in comparison to seeds started from Kylie a week later that are as tall as 9" tall and none shorter than 6". Not that all of Kylie's germinated either but those that were mature surely did. The other seed, although it rooted about a month ago, is not even above ground, but the root is still there. Nothing from the LBG & Bergfeuer as of 1 3/4 months later. I have 2 of Brenda's seeds already germinating from a Pink Perfektion x Amber not even a week in. When a person is buying seeds commercially, they aren't gambling on whether seeds are viable, they expect them to be, give or take a couple. With cork that floats covering these seeds, its a little hard for us to tell, unless we remove the cork which should be able to be done on mature seeds. And I'm not saying less mature seeds won't grow, but 1/10 germination is not what we're buying. These were really small seeds for any brug seed I've ever seen, but definately shaped like a brug seed which is unique to brugs. I won't speculate on what I think is being done, but I will contact them, rather than leave the feedback I intended to. I don't like anybody who continually screws with other people as though nothing mattered if it didn't matter to them, or if they were only looking out for themselves. But as you have had viable seed come from them, I'll only give the one factor that might of made the difference, and that is they may have sent the seeds in too cold of weather, which I can't possibly know but they should. I'd like to believe their motives or intent aren't purely selfish. Again, thanks for the input, I don't like displacing my anger either. And you don't sound like a 'kiss ass' type of person looking to gain something, as you have no motive to do so, so I'll definately trust you :) - Sandy

I took my classes at Forsyth Tech in Winston-Salem, NC. I might still have some of my old textbooks at my parents house. The next time I go to visit i'll see if they got moved with them or if they didn't. lol If not...I replied to your other post with some good resources. If your local community college doesn't offer classes....let me know. The Clemson ext. office is not too far from my house, and I might be able to pick up some info for you. I strongly recommend taking the Master Gardeners program!!!

just write a note on her mail: does not live here and drop it in a mail box. After awhile it should stop. If you know where she lives (even a motel) write that address on her mail and drop in a mailbox. When I already announced that I want to separate, kicked my ex out and told him I am filling for divorce he all of a sudden wanted to talk and work things out. I think it is typical for some men, they don't want to be dumped. Don't meet with him. Save SD's texts for future reference and possibly filling for harassment. tell her to stop writing to you, if she continues, ask your attorney how to file for harassment.
