Built and moved in last weekend - pic!

We were excavated early February and moved in June 2nd.

Our house has been labeled "the cute little house" on the block. Probably the smallest (1600 sq feet) among the tan and dull earth tone brick filled homes but . . .we have the biggest deck!!

We're also the first to plant a little garden next to the mailbox. Tree's are coming in the next week or so.

We woke up the first day there and stepped onto the deck to this scene.

So - then we went to WAL-Mart where they were giving away free grills and had a cook out

JUST KIDDING!!!

our build was as close to perfect and free of problems as can be. The only real problem was the 4 inches of rain that created canyons in the yard the first couple days.

When asked "Would you build again?" Well - if we were going to move - Without a doubt!! Building was a breeze!

I need to show your BBQ to DH...as long as I can remember he's wanted a shiny silver BBQ. Now I can get him one when we move in too!

Thanks, Josh. The town it was in was originally the state capitol, before Oklahoma City. Downtown Guthrie is a very nice place to visit. I've always enjoyed going there. We went in just about every antique shop that day, and that was fun. Here is the Wiki entry for Guthrie... Guthrie is a city in Logan County, Oklahoma and is part of the Oklahoma City Metroplex. Yes everywhere I want to plant things will have to be fenced eventually. We plan to put a new shop there at the bottom and will fence an area for the plants. That 4 1/2 acres really looks huge from the top. Lucy if you go past the shop and start up the hill our property is right past the church on the right side of the road and goes all the way to the top where the houses up there are. I think the road is High Chapparel up there. Someone built a garden at the top edge of his land. He showed me the stakes where his property ends and I guess the people with the house thought they owned all the way to where the cliff drops off but they don't. There are massive boulders up there that are really beautiful but it would take a crane to move them, lol. I'll be satisfied with a walking trail and clearing around up there to sit and look over the valley. Brought home a nice holey rock to plant some small sedums or something in to place by the pond. The deer in the pic look fake but they aren't. They go right on peoples porches and in the garages if you leave the door open. The only thing I have found they don't bother much is mums and lantana. Its big dreams but maybe I'll win the lottery one day, lol. Right now its just nice to have it cleared enough to drive up there. Planted a bunch of wildflower seeds and going to take the bushhog up there and cut some of the tall grass so I can see them in the spring. I'd like to have the water tested in the spring. Its right across from the old pony express and stagecoach stop. Wouldn't it be cool if our town was named after the little cove with the copperas water on our property. It would be the closest source of water to that original settlement. Cat tails are growing in there right now but no other pretty plants. I'm itching to dig out a deeper pool, lol. If it will support them I would like to have fish in there someday.

Cheerful tablescape! Lots of moving going on at your place! Our DS just left for university again last wknd and we are loving having the house to ourselves again. (Older DD already moved out a few years ago.) We turned his old bedroom into an office for me so when he was home for he summer, he had to be in the guest room! He didn't mind though as it is bigger than his old room. Have fun with your BR reno! DD

Hi Soonermagic - we are working on a bathroom remodel and are running into the same issue that you had with your tub -- i.e. the only modern tub that we can find to fit our space is the Wet Cube. We like the WET, but it is very pricey. Now that you have made your purchase and lived with the WET would you buy it again? Is it worth it? Is it comfortable? Do you actually use it? Our alternative is to make a much larger steam shower and not have a tub if we decide not to go with the WET. You are the first person who we have found who actually bought the WET, so we would really appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks much - L

Gotta save money where you can LOL. Squirrel tastes real good on it :-)

KIDDING we will miss our furry friends from the old house - no real trees for them to live in yet. I'll post some indoor photos tomorrow.

Here is one of our furry friends - he would look out every morning for about 1/2 hour - just looking around.

All kidding aside, DH has a friend that got wealthy collecting shopping carts for stores. He's done so well he built a beautiful mansion on the lake!

Good going!! Love the yellow and the BBQ..... If you don't mind me asking, where are you located? Those fields and trees remind me of the Willamette Valley in Oregon.....

Moved from Madison WI (200,000 pop) to Columbus WI 20 miles north(4,500 pop).

Odd thing is that a farming town of 4,500 has 27 holes of golf and a Hospital.

Beautiful house. Can't believe the speed in which it was built. I think that's a record for this forum. Can't wait to see interior photo's. I know what you mean about the deck being big. I gave up about 1000 sq. ft of living area so I could have my porches!!
