scroll button,double click?

This is probably not the right place to ask but my old mouse(logitech) had the function of the middle scroll button also act as a double click by only clicking it once. My new one( also a logiteck , not the same one) does not have this feature which I really miss . Is there any software out there to make this happen? Thanks

This should not be a problem, especially if you installed the drivers for the new mouse. Go to Control panel/mouse and look there for your options

It does not give me that option.

mikie, When I right click on it when it pops up on the normal scroll bar, I get these options: scroll here, top, bottom,scroll up, scroll down and there isn't any properties option on it. If I right click when it pops up somewhere on the page(as a horizontal bar) I get: Back, Forward,Save, Copy, Paste, Add to Favorites, Print, Create Shortcut, Google search, Select all..and I might have missed one or two! This one has Properties option and clicking on it shows the page properties that I'm on. The horizontal bar is harder to bring up on the screen, but it does pop up every so often. I'll check out the windows live site. Thanks!

Any thoughts as to what could be causing this and what I can do? I'd suggest trying via another browser. Do you have another browser on your computer? This is one of the occasions where it is handy to have a second browser loaded and ready for those instances where it 'could be' a browser issue on 'your' computer. Sue

Hi 715rose, To temporarily show the old style menus, just press the Alt key on the keyboard. See what that does for you. To have them shown all the time, right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip and check Menu Bar in the pop-up menu. Joe

Linked below are dozens of very good tutorials for Win 7. Take a look through. Some are worthwhile but others seem just fancy dickering but to each his own. Your page would scroll if it was longer. Is your replacement mouse a three (3) button mouse?
I have 2-3 of them and appreciate the "Double click" center one. To the best of my recall logitech site has a downloadable deal for the three button mouse. A install CD came with mine. Grady

Chris, in control panel when i right click the mouse icon it gives a set up window, I hit the "buttons" tab and assign the functions I want to the buttons. Grady

I can get to the controls ok but there is no place to set the middle wheel except to scroll any # of lines.

Did the installation place an mouse icon in the Systems Tray/Notification Area? If so, click on it and see what appears. You might want to try right-clicking too.

I finally got the remedy on the logitech message board, it was a download, which I have added in case anyone else might be interested, thanks to all for trying to help.
