Technically Challenged - Need Help!!!

The above is very true and unfortunately whoever responds must do it in simple terms or I'll I'll mess things up! I love the Garden Web and am a loyal viewer and occasionally ask questions on the decorating forum. Once in a while I want to look at other forums one of which is the message boards on HGTV but when I can see that someone submits a photo I'm unable to view it - a red circle with a line through it is on the screen. I emailed HGTV and was advised that I should be sure to be using the up-to-date version of my browser which is Mozilla Firefox which I am - and the latest version of Adobe Flash - which I installed. Also they advised to empty my cache, a word I never heard of before, but I did find it and did so and to enable cookies which I did. They also advised to type the address in the field and not to use favorites or book mark - which I did. Nothing worked and I'm still seeing that darn red circle. This of course is not an earth shattering problem in the scheme of things but if anyone can help - not too technical please, it would be appreciated. If you require any additional information please advise. Thanks.

Try this cleaner tool please see the link, click the red link on that page save the file to your desk top so you can find it after download, look for it on desktop now Double click it chose Run, put a check mark in "Select all" now click Empty all.

This tool will clean up a lot of junk that may be causing a problem..

Try logging into the HGTV message boards and you should be able to view the pictures. I did a search for the problem on the HGTV boards and found these posts.

A dvd recorder will do a pretty good job of recording off your analog tv stations. But it will be hard to buy a dvd recorder now that won't also include a digital tv tuner, too. Most movie companies put a copyguard on the discs to make it hard to make a quality copy of their movie.

Hey Janice63.. To be honest, we knew that when we found the right washer we would simply opt for the matching dryer. We did not put much thought into it. We got the WA456 washer from Samsung, the dryer is the DV456. It's a very good dryer. It has humidity sensing. If you set the dryer for normal at 1hr but it senses the load is almost dry 15 mins after you turn it on it will automatically adjust the finish time. Saves a lot of electricity. Take a look on Samsung's website.

I've heard this objection for 27 years. $400 for outdoor speakers (dependent on manufacturer) is not exceedingly high, or $350 as well. What is the area of coverage, how much quality audio do you want? They are more efficient being placed on outside of porch's and faced in towards the side of homes. You don't have all the audio projecting over to your neighbors. Do you enjoy your audio system, or get more use out of it than your $10,000 Persian rug under the dining room table?

Sabrina Alfin Interiors - I like the idea of switching out the chairs and light. Getting rid of the table itself isn't an option right now. We purchased and redid a gorgeous craftsman style house in the PNW (the table fit in perfectly there) two years ago, and as soon as we were all settled in we had to relocate to Florida for work. Not too many PNW craftsman styled homes here! With all the expenses of the last few years, a new table isn't on top of the priority list, but new chairs and a chandelier are totally doable. Sammie J, decoenthusiaste, and oaktonmom...agree with you as to the bizarre lay out. As it is now, the dining room is the corner part of an L shaped layout - with a massive TV/great room on one side (not shown in the photos), and the informal seating area (by the kitchen) on the other side. Unfortunately, it isn't an option to flip the rooms. For some electrical code reason (the details are fuzzy), we can't add the type of lighting that we would want for the dining room if we were to swap the rooms. It has something to do with whatever the previous owners had done when they re-plumbed/rewired the house a few years ago. Oddly enough, this layout is very common and preferred in homes in our area.

I use FireFox, too, and love it. I know this is a different problem from the one you wrote in about, but just in case you should ever have trouble viewing a video when using the FireFox browser, did you know there is a FF add-on (or it may be called an extension--no matter!) that will let you get to see it by switching to Internet Explorer for just that one site? Just the one tab will open up in IE, while any other tabs you have open will remain visible in FF.

Don't be confused by the reference (on the IE Tab download page) to Web developers; it's fine for us ordinary folks, too. Just click on the green Install Now button to get it.

Don't be surprised if, for some sites where you have told FF to remember your password, the site makes you give it again when you view it on IE Tab. That is normal.
