To a cold home. Ah. And singing the newest Hershey's jingle. I sing something every morning, but this one won't go away! What is it y'all call that, an "ear worm"? Last week, while on vacation, but stuck in the dark house (all the shades and windows closed (after being open all night so as to cool it down) to keep it cool), and waiting on techs to finish working, I got this brainstorm to try to make a little memory. I kept seeing that Hershey s'mores commercial with Rascal Flatts, and it must've burned into my brain.... so I got out really long skewers, a tiny tea light candle, and mini marshmallows. We didn't make s'mores, but roasted marshmallows inside. We had a blast! Talk about cheap entertainment. By the way, one mini is too few to do at a time, it takes too much time, and five is too many, the flame is too big for inside. Three was the perfect number. That is a 90 watt LED grow light that is supposed to be effective or cover a 5ft x 5ft growing area. As you can see in my picture, I hang it higher (3 ft above plants) so it would cover a bigger area. And the hippies seem to be ok with that. I repeat, this set-up of mine is done not to MAXIMIZE my plant's growth. This is just to get my hippies, ones that I don't want to rest, going during winter. One 48 inch shoplight/flourescent fixture uses 80 watts (40watts/flourescent)and can only cover around 1ft X 4 ft growing area. It is not the best for your hippies too but get them by during winter. I have 2 set-ups of these to which I use with the seedlings (5 seedling trays). The trays had to be switched around as the ones in the end really suffers with very little effective light reaching them. It is also not the best for the seedlings as you can see how their leaves elongate and reach for more light. But they survive in it during winter. So to sum this up, here's the math: 1 LED grow light.....90 watts....25 sq ft growing area 2 shoplights.........160 watts...8-10 sq ft growing area For those who would like a good indoor set-up that will maximize your Hippies performance during winter, go for Sir Hans or Laurier's set-up. They are the best that I have seen or read about and have seen very good results from.

Here is the trick. If you imagine a 4 x 8' sheet of plywood cut in half to make two 4 x 4 sections. Now imagine these squares where you want to have your mature plumerias. Count the squares and do not buy more plants than you can fit squares. That way in ten years you are not sitting there giving away 8' plants because you have no room and your young ones are still growing. By the way, for beauty and scent, Kauka Wilder, Kimi Moragne, and Veracruz Rose are wonderful. Here is some eye candy........ If you could only smell the pictures (scratch-n-sniff). tanpexoctics Willis I thought you have few Stehpanias! I think I potted one wrong way up, haha...it seems to be growing from the soil rather than top of 'potato'. Top is now bottom... I am very happy it is growing at all... And the one I posted photo of started to grow leaves. 1 is very small, other little bigger. They seems to like heat - it has been pretty warm last 3 days, at least for here! (probably not as hot as where you are):
