Bath Before and After Photos

I've been a lurker here for the past year or so while planning my bath update and I'm excited to say it's finally finished! I've learned so much from this forum - thanks to you all for your helpful tips and advice. Details are below along with a link to the photos.

What a nice job! I love the mirror and the storage over the toilet. I especially love the paint color and I'm glad you listed it. Enjoy your new space and thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the kind comments. Williamsem, we really went back and forth over the paint color and after a week, we ended up picking white over a pale blue or gray paint color. It's such a small space and the way the ceiling is (not in the pictures) that part of the ceiling has to be the same color - there is no hard stop on the start of the ceiling in the front portion of this little bathroom. Love your bathroom! One more question about the Mendota, please. How do like its water depth? Do you guys use it to take baths or just showers? I'm back and forthe between the Mendota and the Bellwether. I wish, Iwish, I wish, there was someplace that carried both and I could just see and measure for myself. According to the Kohler provided specs: The 60 x 32 Bellwether is 15 1/2 inches high, and the water depth is 11 5/16. The 60 x 32 Mendota is slightly taller - 16 1/4 inches, but the water is 10 7/8. I'd prefer the Mendota because the Bellwether has that sloped front end which shortens the basin, so you get an extra 2 inches in the Mendota. I just don't know what to do.

Funny, funkyart, my house is a 1960's colonial...but I always wanted that old farmhouse. So we ripped out all (ALL) the wimpy moulding and baseboards throughout the house and replaced it with wide/substantial trim, Added hardwood throughout, and did everything we could to revamp the style. It's more of a colonial revival look throughout---with schoolhouse pendants, pedestal sink in the 1/2 bath etc. I bet you could make this work in your room too! I will post some pictures of the inside of the closet tonight so you can get a better idea of how big, and the layout etc. Pretty much, it is a wide reach-in. Not quite walk in closet, although it is big enough to walk into etc. just not to hang clothing on both sides. The entire closet is open, but closed off by the 3 sets of doors. 2 sets of the doors hold my clothes, and dh has one. Shoe cubbies fit on both ends (which may be may favorite part of the whole thing---Dh built them to fit shoes and purses.) The closet system is from Lowes, and I highly recommend it. You can customize it however you like and it really looks more $ than it is. We had priced out California Closets, and their bottom of the line style was almost triple the cost of these... and these are much nicer looking. If you can DIY, they are the way to go. Linda, that's lovely! The addition of the black in the mirror frame, etc. adds so much. Small suggestion: when posting Befores and After pics, start of with something like "This is a Before of the fireplace area:", and then add that photo. Add more info on the next pic before you add it. This just makes it easier to look at things if the viewers are not familiar with the room. And, I don't think that it's possible to add more pics more than a few hours (or even less, I'm not sure) after you've first started a thread.

I love the Allen & Roth over the toilet storage, too! Did you re-use the existing vanity or did you buy a new one?

Lovely. My bathroom has the same layout and we are using white subways with chrome and a similar window. You have helped me see how mine might look in a week or two (we are mid-reno right now). The paint colour is really nice with the white - it is much like my bedroom - maybe I should carry it over to the bathroom, too, now that I've seen yours.

Do you have a picture of the room from the door looking straight towards the tub? I'd love to see the whole window wall and the wall with the towel rack.

Thanks so much for the feedback - I really appreciate it!

Karena_2009 - I bought a new vanity from HD - the original vanity was quite old. I also put in a new vanity top - the original top was a yellow/cream color, so the new one is white to match the white vanity.

MarysDottir - unfortunately my camera went on the fritz shortly after I took these photos, but I will take some more if I can get it working again.
