As a remnant of my chemo I also have neuropathy. In the beginning I had trouble with hands, arms, lips and of course my feet. Gradually it improved and the only remaining problem are the soles of my feet, but not enough to impair me. This most likely is permanent, since I also got since then diabetes 2 which also may cause neuropathy. For about a year I ran around with a couple of squishy balls which I used while walking, watching TV etc. I never heard of loss of the use of limbs. Is it possible to have your son seen by a Neurologist? Oh, if he has trouble walking, make him wiggle his toes as much as possible while sitting, I do this to this day and my doctor says it has a lot to do with the fact that I still can walk as fast and much as I do. Hope he feels better soon.

I gave you a suggestion over at the KT (Home Depot hanging planters)...but that was before I knew what you were doing. I made the same balls when I got married for my reception hall. First of all..heads up!! Those battery operated lights are not bright nor long lasting. Tried that and what a challenge to go back & replace batteries on the wedding day! Once you have flowers on the ball-the battery ones barely show-honest. What I did was get a roll of chicken wire and formed balls to whatever diameter you want. (Mine were BIG ones-about 16") Make sure you wear gloves when bending into balls & as you mold into shape-just bend the wire ends over to secure. We had a dropped ceiling in the hall-so I ran extendion cords all above and along the places I wanted a lighted ball. When placing real strings of white lights on your ball-secure with bread ties-making sure the PLUG is at the TOP of the ball. True Value stores have hooks specific for the strips on a dropped ceiling-for you to hang your balls!! I made BIG tissue paper flowers in my colors and wired them to the ball, after placing the lights. Real pretty & showy!! NOTE: Don't wrap the lights to tightly to the ball, so if once the flowers are on-you can pull any lights furthur out so they show amid the posies. Hope this helps!

Just so you know in regards to front loaders...a HOT wash will help keep your washer cleaner preventing mold from forming along with using bleach (in a wash cycle or using bleach in the "Clean" cycle). Also doing a "Sanitary" wash every few weeks (or once a month) will also help keep mold at bay. Today in high efficiency machines (top or front loading) most do NOT allow the hot water your hot water heater puts out to be put into the tub. They have something called ATC (Automatic Temperature Control). The machine will mix hot and cold to reach a specified temp. that the manufacturer programs into the machine. So if they program hot to be 120F and your hot water heater is set to 130F it will mix hot and cold to reach 120F. Today's temps. are not what they were back in the day. Today's warm is more like lukewarm and therefore hot is not as hot as it once was. Someone will have to chime in on the on board heater.
