Shower drain for mud job questions (Bill V.?)

I need help specifying the right kind of shower drain for a new mud job shower, one that is decorative polished chrome and easy to keep clean. I notice online that there seem to be some that have a system for filtering that rests below the removable decorative cover, but I have never seen such a drain in person.

Last summer we had a mud job done for the shower in our master but ended up with the plumber's selection of a run-of-the-mill round shower drain in a brushed metal finish, not a polished chrome to match my fixtures.

Now we are going to gut our remaining bath, eliminate its short tub and install a mud job shower. I would really like to get a nice polished chrome square drain cover to match the fixtures, but I need to make sure I know what to ask for.

What kind of drain do I need for a mud job shower? And what is special about the kind with a filter underneath the decorative drain cover?
