New house and neighbors fence on our property

My wife and I are building a house and have noticed that the neighbor's fence is crossing our property line. My best guess is that it is across the property line about 20'. All the houses on our street are new, so the fence is only a few months old, so it's not like it have been there for years. It appears they built the fence such that it is oriented to have the lines perpendicular and parallel to the road. This is a big no no because the road runs at an angle to all the properties, so if you build a fence this way, at some point the fence will start to cross onto another property, aka mine! I figure there is about 100' of fence length on my actual property, and at the deepest point it has penetrated 20'. I've only met the neighbor once, and I want to be on good terms with him, but I think once I bring up the situation that it's going to get us off on a bad start. Do any of you have suggestions for how I should approach the situation?
