How to fix crack/grout in shower? Pic
Comments (1)abananie-- with respect to the joint in the shower, a siliconized latex caulk will do fine, and in your case, being you have unsanded grout above, and sanded below, either will work as far as the caulking is concerned. Now, about the curb. HOPEFULLY, it's just a matter of water getting past the glass. Can you show me pics both close up, and overall of the door, and then also the water damage to the wood trim outside the shower? Also, are you seeing any cracking grout joints on or near the curb? (inside the shower OR out)...See MoreI just found out this cracked porcelaine floor tile, how do we fix it?
Comments (2)Hopefully that is an impact crack and not a problem with the subfloor. Removing and replacing the tile is the way to make it look "perfect". So long as the edges aren't dangerous, cracked tiles are welcome to be left in place (until they become dangerous). The grout on that tile also needs repair. I would check the entire floor to ensure you are not seeing the beginning of a failing tile floor. Failing tile can be seen with ++ cracked grout or multiple tiles that are looking stressed (fine cracks in the body of the tile that have yet to crack all the way through like the tile you show in your photos). A quick inspection of the entire floor will tell you whether or not a repair is even worth it. A tile floor that is in the beginning stages of failure is not worth repairing. I'm hoping Joseph will pop by to offer any suggestions for "filler" that might be used to correct the tile without removing/replacing. I'm a wood/cork flooring pro...which means tiles and stone are not my strong point....See Morehow to fix crack in ceiling?
Comments (2)"Really not sure where to start." Start by finding out if pop-corn contain's asbestos. If the home was built before 1980 , scrape a tablespoon full into a zip-loc bag for lab testing. Manufacture of drywall products containing asbestos was banned in 1978. Selling products made before 1978 was banned in 1980. If your home is on the borderline, pinch pop-corn kerrnels between fingers. If it is styrofoam like, there is no hazard. If it crumbles to dust, have it tested. If it contains asbestos, consult a reliable drywall company to have repair done. What to do with remainder of house is a discussion for another day. The crack look's to be nothing more than poorly applied tape peeling off. If area isn't water stained, simply removing tape at the seam then retape, texture and paint is all that's reaquired. Walk in the park, ever day job for drywall installer. If drywall sheet has sagged or area is water stained, best have a general contractor address it....See MoreHow to fix my old cracked steps as cheaply and easily as possible
Comments (4)Fortunately, it doesn't look too bad or pose a hazard. Unfortunately, this requires a professional. I've been doing major home repair work for 40+ years and I can tell you there is no magic product that is going to allow you to fix those multiple problems. Glopping something on or trying to inject something won't fix it and will only make it look worse. Issues like that require dismantling and replacement. The quote you got was pretty cheap for the work involved to do this correctly....See Moretxgal06
