Go with a tub/shower combo OR with a walk-in shower. Forget trying to have both a shower and a separate soaker tub. Don't even waste the money running plumbing for both. The space you have just isn't big enough to accommodate both unless you want to give up practically ALL of your closet space. Since your house has another bath with a tub, you don't have to have a tub in the master. (Code only requires one bathtub in a house.) Most adults would probably agree that they use the shower far more often than the tub. If you want a walk-in shower, you can certainly have one. While you can tile the shower alcove, I would recommend that you use a plexiglass door/wall on the front side instead of tiling. (See the link below) It'll feel more open and you don't really have the space to build a tile wall enclosure on the front side. Here is a design with walk-in shower for you. Note that I made the window narrower (24" instead of 36") and made the narrow end of the closet a little narrower because a walk-in shower is usually a bit wider than a standard alcove bathtub. I do like the dark wood very much but we are also replacing closet doors and I am unsure if they 'should' match (they usually do to an extent it seems) I created another topic for the bedroom closet with pictures or 'before' and 'after'. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/bedroom-closet-door-suggestions-appreciated-dsvw-vd~5037805?n=12 I like the dark wood with the frosted glass. Good point! What size mirror would you recommend i.e. over the vanity only or a wider mirror over the vanity + cabinet? Framed or frameless? I was thinking a rectangular mirror. Thanks!
