We have the Kohler Demi-lav sinks with Kohler one-handle Purist faucet. Dh told the fabricator where to drill the hole for the faucet. (I was away from the house at the time). My sink was too far from the faucet, so when the plumber came, he was able to "jiggle" the sink a little further to the back, before it was siliconed. Since the sink is a drop-in sink, I would think you may have some lee-way....before giving up on your faucet. (I don't know if money is an issue, if you would be able to return your faucet)
However, as a result the sink is a little further back from the front of the counter than I would have wanted.

what about the Eva roman tub faucet?

It is bigger than the regular bathroom faucet. Is it too big?

8.5" reach, instead of the nearly-5" reach of the bathroom.

6.75" clearance under the faucet instead of 4"

Definitely bigger.

Can you use a wire coat hanger and some masking tape to mock up something a similar height and reach (use the masking tape and maybe newspaper to create the thickness)?

Ashlander: we only have about an inch leeway to move the sink and that won't be enough. Plus we already have 3 holes drilled in the counter so we have to use them.

Talley_sue: Yes, that's what I'm thinking of, if it's not too big, but it doesn't have a drain assembly. I'm wondering if we can use that and then a separate drain that you open & close by hand, like what I've linked below.

You brought up an excellent point. I am ordering Eva for my master bath. So far I've only got the tub faucet and I know it does not have a huge reach, only about 1/2" shorter than Showhouse Felicity that I have now. But I definitely need to check on the sink faucet. I'll be doing undermount sinks so that may make the reach ok in my bath but definitely worth checking into before I make a mistake.

It turns out that the tub faucets won't work--their flow rate is 40 gpm as opposed to 2.2 for the sink, and we don't want any flooding in the brand new bathroom! After looking through hundreds of faucets, I have found about 5 that will work--they have a "reach" of more than 6"--but none of them match the rest of the fixtures very well. Today I am going to look at kitchen faucets and see if there is anything that will work. I didn't realize we had to take height AND reach into consideration. Will never make that mistake again!

ali, you're not alone...I didn't consider reach in our kitchen sink, didn't even occur to me. I was lucky in that it *just* barely makes it, but it could easily not have. Don't feel too bad about your mistake and I just hope that you can find a practical and aesthetically pleasing solution. We live and learn.

flyleft, thanks for the kind words. I've already accepted the monetary loss and now, like you said, am just searching for an aesthetically pleasing solution. We are thinking about coming up to PDX to shop on Saturday. Are there any good plumbing/lighting/home improvement stores you'd recommend? We are also looking for a new grill. Thanks!
