Shower door won't stay closed

Our shower door was "difficult" from the start, due to the angle and design of the walls. It was finally, installed, however, and worked fine for awhile, but then it started popping open (just wouldn't stay closed - pull it tight and it opens about 4-5"). We had the shower door company back, they "fixed" it, it worked for about a week and now it's happening again. We've not paid our final credit card charge yet for this because we want it fixed. Any idea what is wrong?

One guess would be that they installed it a little off the vertical and have tried to compensate by adjusting the hinge spring tension high to keep it closed. Accordingly, as time goes by, the tension decreases a little and it opens. Just a guess, but you can check it with a level - should be prefectly vertical. If it's off they need to reinstall it proprerly!

Sounds like the down limit is out of adjustment. Does the opener rail bow up when the door hits the ground? If so back the down limit off a turn or two and try it. If your are standing in the garage looking out the limits will be on the left hand side of the opener. The down limit is the limit closest to the door. If your limits are ok turn your down force up a quarter of a turn and try it.

Thanks for you reponse, kudzu9. I guess what I'm trying to get across is that it is a nuisance to have to find something to prop it open when I put in a load from the grocery store. My other refrig will reach a certain point where it will stay open until I close it past that point and then it shuts by itself. I am hoping it is just some kind of a simple adjustment to the hinges?

Dacor 48" Range door won't close - already has new hinges

I just bought a used 48" Dacor range. The larger oven door will not close completely. It stays open about 1" at the top. I took it apart and it seems that it has brand new hinges in it. Is it possible they purchased the wrong ones? How do I find the correct ones? Is there a way to confirm the model?

Thank you. I seem to recall the installers mention something about this being a common issue and they literally travel hours to a client site for the cost of a service call and all it is, is an adjustment they make with a small Allen key (ish) tool. I haven't figured it out myself though. If I don't find any help here, I guess we'll be calling the installers back.
