Bought my first laptop ..

Yep .... I'm finally in the 21 st century !

(embarrassed smile )

It's set up as wireless ... battery length is 3 hours.My question is about the battery . I don't know how often to charge it . Should I wait for the battery warning to come on -- or should I plug it in after every use ?

*AND* on the average - how long can the battery keep being recharged ? This is Gateway laptop ... ($500)...one of the cheaper ones. Where can I get a new battery ?

I apologize for the stupid beginner question .... I'm an Old Dog that's TRYING to learn new tricks ! LOL

since this is a new laptop I have to ask what have you set up for your security programs? Even new laptops are sometimes behind on updates so be sure you check for those windows and other updates.

this site is a big help when setting up a new pc or laptop, one easy place to get all those needed programs and they make sure you don't get any of those extra pesky toolbars etc.

Sylvia's right about topsoil- don't bother, it probably came from some construction site around the corner from you and is the same as what you have - or worse! Clay is very fertile, it just needs organic matter mixed in so it doesn't turn into grease when it's wet and bricks when it's dry. Get a load of compost instead and mix it in with your clay. You say "Not sure if I got enough." I have probably 4,000 bulbs on my 135 x 65' property and I am saying the same thing every fall! What you have is a great start and they will be beautiful. I'm not in your zone so it could be different there, but here most of the bulbs you mentioned are not spring bulbs, they bloom in the summer. Poppies bloom in the early summer and then the whole plant disappears when the heat hits. So it may not be the best combination unless you leave room for the poppies when you plant the bulbs, and then plan for annuals or something once the poppies fade. Good luck!

I definitely would not get the celeron processor. Go for a better rated processor. I am an AMD fan prefer them over Intel but everyone has their own preferences. on the router make sure you change the default user name and password to the router itself and give your wireless network a very strong number/letter mix passphrase or use one generated by the router if it will do that (write it on a card and tape it to the bottom of the router not blocking any vents). Be sure also that you have enabled WPA2 encryption in the router setup so that your wireless is safe from those passing by or near you that could other wise jump onto your network. My router is a linksys G router and I have a 4000sqft house, I can use my laptops anywhere and get an excellent rated signal, I can go out in my yard and get the same, my neighbor can see my network from his house and he shows it as a strong signal, of course mine is locked down so he can not get on it as is his, I see his from my house which has 2 bars.

"Could the Appraiser and Survey be incorrect?" Oh yes ... especially if there were lot splits, and other things going on. I can think of one instance from Phoenix where the house had been built before permits were required, built on a lot split from a larger property and slid past tax assessors until the original owner/builder died. The legal records started in the 1980s for a house built in the 1930s. And the handwriting on the old records is not always legible. Many areas like that began to be built up in the mid to late 20s as custom and spec homes. Then there is a gap for the depression and WWII and building starts up again.

If you have elec. available leave it plugged in, use same as desktop PC, use battery when no elec. near..and it's still a good idea to use a chill pad under it.
