I have had my jenn-air FD for over 4 months. I love it and it's news to me that there is no bottom to the drawer. I guess I will have to check it out. However, now that I think about it you are talking the top drawer with the ice cube tray. I keep all my frozen veggies there and I guess if something fell thru it would just go to the bottom part of the freezer not on the floor. I read everything on this forum for over 6 months and I got the FD with the pro handles for the looks. I really believe all fridges are pretty much the same. A big box that keeps things cold. I knew I would not spend $6,ooo - $7,000 on a refrigerator but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I LOVE the large drawer and everything about this fridge. Very happy we chose it.

Gitanos, you have more experience than I do with this, but my experience leads me to disagree with you. As you can see from when my earlier post was made, I bought my Jenn-Air in 2008 when I was remodeling my kitchen. At the time the choice of refrigerator gave me the most doubt. It seemed that all the non-luxury brands had lots of strikes against them. Many brands (including Jenn-Air) turned out to be the same mfg (I forget who) with the differences being cosmetic. I picked the Jenn-Air among them because the handles fit my design best. Since then I had no significant problems until last year when my ice maker failed. I was distressed to find that the only solution offered was replacement. That was more $ than I liked to pay. But it was the only thing after 7 years. That doesn't seem so bad. The only other "problem" I have had is that the "replace filter" indicator light has never worked. But that is just slightly annoying. Perhaps the newer Jenn-Air machines are different.

That is so funny - we are making the same decision! I did find them both in a show room (which doesn't tell you how well it will actually work) and the GE felt a little more solid. The down side to the GE is the space between the door will show and will be either black or white - I didn't think stainless handles blend with this. If you are doing other appliances in black it's not as much of an issue. My other concern with the GE was the freezer door was very tall. So tall in fact that I had a hard time reaching into it without standing at the sides. If I've been told correctly though, Kitchen Aid just came out with a CD french door panel ready fridge KFCO22EV. I haven't seen it on line, but I did see it in a store in SS and really liked it. Good luck!

OK - my measurement results. I opened the doors out to the stoppers, then using an angle ruler, measured how far out the handle was. That was 7.5 inches. Then, I opened the lowest drawer inside (the one that's the full width of the fridge) and closed the door until it just about hit. That measurement was closer to 4 inches. To be perfectly honest, if you can, I would actually have more than 4 inches. Sure, the drawer will open, but depending on how you set up the door shelving, you may find that tight. HTH!
