30' vent hood on top of 36' dcs or wolf rangetop (a disaster?!).

Hello everyone,

IÂm about to have a panic attack, I completely canÂt decide what to do, and IÂd really appreciate your help here.

IÂm looking to buy one of those range tops:

DCS 36" PRO with (4 burner + griddle) CP-364GD : http://www.dcsappliances.com/indoor/detail.php?id=10

Or;

WOLF 36" PRO SRT364G (4 Burners + Griddle (sealed) ) :

The problem is that I can only fit a 30" vent hood above the rangetop. The hood place looks like the one in this picture:

Vents that will fit in there go up to a maximum of 680 or so CFM. At least thatÂs what I found.

I donÂt care if some smoke, or little bit of odor escapes while IÂm cooking, what IÂm worried about is damage to the cabinets. Will those 3" extra on each side damage my cabinets due to heat? Or can I get away with it. Is there a powerful but slim vent that would fit in there?

Also which rangetop should I go with? I can get the DCS $1k cheaper than the Wolf. Is the Wolf worth the extra grand?!
