Hi there, Romando! I'm interested in your plant markers, the labels I have are an odd shape, I think, and I can't use them with my Print Shop 20 program, so I don't know if you'll want them or not. FF - This spring I got rid of 50 or so cvs and slapped new labels over the old. Time will tell but the news ones have held up this season.

I have posted here two different styles of markers we use for our daylilies. We started using the first, but found they bend too easily. The first picture is zinc markers I purchased on the lily auction. I have also purchased them from metalgardenmarkers.com. They are available other places as well. For the name of the daylily we used Avery waterproof address labels printed on a laser printer. I usually have to order these labels from a business supply store. They are weatherproof as long as you use a laser printer. We have used these for about 4 years and have never had an address label fall off or become unreadable. We started to use Kincaid markers instead because they are heavier and taller. They are much more expensive but seem so much sturdier. The faceplate is tipped upward so they are easier to read and the faceplate won't fall down to the ground as happens with the first type of markers. We reuse the first type but hope the Kincaid markers look better when reused. The Kincaid markers come in three different qualities and we buy the best and the tallest as well. The seller on the lily auction and both Kincaid and Metal Garden Markers have given us fast efficient service. We also make maps of the daylily beds too. Sometimes animals disturb the markers and we have had them frost heave as well. I also keep a master list of daylilies. On that list I put the location of each daylily. (We name each bed.)

Open Word...select Envelopes + Labels...click on Labels > Options > Label Vendors [should give you a long list of vendors in addition to Avery] and then select what Avery program or label size you want. There are many, many Avery options. That should give you everything you need. All you'll have to do is actually supply the correct # Avery label for printing. There should be no need to download an Avery program but it's an available option if you can't find the label # you need. I haven't done it in a long time so I can't attest to its success...but I have done it in the past. Today...the Avery options listed in Word are so complete that it's not really necessary to download any Avery program directly.
