Thunderbird mail

I just installed Thunderbird mail & really like it except the spell checker is blank & no matter how bad I spell nothing happens..

I went to TOOLS..OPTION.. COMPOSE.. SPELLING & put a check in but it is still blank.. any ideas?

May not help, but I would go back to the same place and click on 'download more dictionaries' and scroll down to 'English (US)' and install it. Mine has worked from day 1, but maybe the dictionary didn't get installed in yours.

Bob I tried to install the dictionary but it doesn't seem to install. I even checked SEARCH & none is there for Thunderbird. I am almost at my wits end & about ready to go back to NetScape mail but hate to do that... my forward doesn't seem to work there.

If that's what you think then maybe netscape was set to the default browser, remember links in e- mail will open in the default browser. Does that make sense to you. Now Google this..."Set default browser"

I found ask.com in default search options. I deleted it. There is also a: ask Jeeves UK.ask.com. Shouldn't I delete that also? I rebooted & that error message didn't come on. I just want to be sure before I delete it but think ALL traces includes the ask Jeeves. Dar

I just updated Thunderbird to 15.0 cause I didn't have a send button.. I know I had one.. well I still don't with 15.0 & my pictures are still broken. My son wants me to get opera mail (he uses Firefox browser) but I didn't want it.. maybe now I do. I rebooted too as that usually helps solve a lot of problems. Am I missing it or is there a way to get it. I checked options & don't see anything. BTW I sent my letter using the send under file. Dar

Whew.. after trying for what seems like ever I got the dictionary installed & now have spell check.. thanks again everyone..
