Show me your stained cabinets with contrasting countertop!
Comments (35)Okak, Thanks. My cabinets were custom built and the quality turned out to be fantastic. I don't know where you live, but I am in Florida and used Roger Romero (Roger's Cabinets). His phone number is (954) 584-9876. He is truly a master craftsman who takes pride in his work and customer service. It took him 12 weeks to build it all by hand and custom stain it, layering on coat by coat until we found just the right one for us. His price was not more than any other kitchen place who orders cabinets from manufacturers like Thomasville, etc. I wish other Floridians come across this post and give him a call. You won't be sorry. Tell him Susan from Coral Springs sent you!...See More"Modern" wall color choice w/ cherry cabinets - pics?
Comments (16)There really is no substitute for seeing the potential choices in the actual space because the way the light plays in your kitchen won't be just the same as someone else's. Ex: we thought the blue-gray we used in our north facing LR would also be good in our north facing MBR. Nope, it was terrible even though the LR is our favorite color choice in the house. You don't have to stick paint chips on your new walls, though. Our local BM paint store carries "paint chip" boards that are meant to be painted with your test colors and leaned up against the wall. I think you could do the same thing by going to Michael's and buying a sheet of foamboard and cutting it up. Bound to be a lot less expensive. A bonus is that you could prepare these boards now using a variety of colors. They can be placed in the kitchen with samples of your floor, cabs, and counter for decision making. In the end, money spent on paint samples is well worth the cost....See MoreCreative minds needed to tie in granite w/lots of mix (pics)
Comments (8)I think I've figured out that the red tile is your floor? And the gray stone is a SS? If so, I'm a little confused... you said those were things you've ordered. Are you using SS somewhere, or is that just what you would use if you could? It's beautiful; I love any SS but didn't use it for the same reason. I have heard here that leathered engineered quartz is difficult to maintain. Leathered granite, OTOH... For a long time I really thought we'd be going with quartz, but once I started looking at some of the granites, I knew that's what would work best for us. By that time I had also decided that I didn't like the polished look and wanted honed or leathered or whatever. We ended up with Impala Black leathered, which was about the same as the quote we got for Hanstone. Silestone was more, and Cambria probably would have been even more. It doesn't have any cream, just dark gray overall effect, probably in the same color family as a gray SS or JM, though I never saw that in person. If you take away the cream color of your 1st Cambria pic, that's about what you would have. It has been mistaken for SS in a photo. Overall it has been a breeze to keep looking nice (about two months). We did crack it this weekend by running the crock pot directly on it (fabricator didn't give us any hints about what to do and not to do, but they will fix it and bring us some trivets to put the crock pot on in the future). Otherwise, it seems pretty hardy, and definitely does not show stains from those things you listed. Not sure if that helps or if you are looking for suggestions of stones with some cream along with gray, but from what you said, it might fit....See MoreHelp w/my cabinet colors please!
Comments (28)Sher, definately do both! I have a teeny tiny kitchen too! Mine is smaller than yours. I would bump out the kitchen sink three inches--leaves more space for faucet, etc., and then do the sink cab in black. You could do the same thing with the cooktop cab as well. My kitchen is too small not to have a range instead of a cooktop, but I did this with my kitchen sink cab and I absolutely LOVE it! In fact, my contractor, KD, the cabinet installer and everyone that sees the black cab just loves it. My picture isn't the best, but it gives you an idea. You can also do the bottom black cabs and the uppers in white. I have a picture of that too with marble counters. It was the inspiration for my kitchen. The picture is not the best quality, but I LOVED that kitchen. Your beautiful granite has the same tonal (tonel?) qualities as the marble. You will have to let us know what you decided. Hope this gets to you before you order this weekend. I think it would be beautiful! Here is my kitchen (still under construction). Instead of the white (wanted but couldn't afford) I did natural maple with the black espresso stained sink cab. Here is the picture of the classy black and cream kitchen with the marble tile....See Morejohnmari
