Here's my latest finds from recent visits to eBay, Dollar Tree, and Goodwill.

The little white rabbit has a butterfly on his back, the large crystal rabbit is a covered candy dish.

The large pack of 12 "sparklies" in the back actually came from GW today. Its "gift garland rope" to wrap packages, but I will use it on wreaths or trees or garlands. Each is a fairly long rope, and really pretty colors.

The balls on the left come in packs of 3 at Dollar Tree. I got silver, and of course purple. They are VERY sparkly and pretty. Then I got the two jingle bell door hangers, and the tube with 7 silver ball ornaments. They also had the tubes with gold ones for a dollar.

The ceramic witch ball is for a tea light, as is the metal Halloween House. Hard to photograph, but it has two bats, a picket fence, and a black cat. Its really cute.

The pretty ceramic pumpkin is a lidded bowl. All from GW.

I couldn't resist an ORANGE Teddy Bear for Fall decorating, especially at 99 cents! The hand-crafted wood basket is really well done, with pumpkins and leaves cut out on each side. Then the orange vase for a candle or floral was also 99 cents. Good day at Goodwill.

More from Dollar Tree. The witch on the broom hangs, so she will go on my front porch along with the wreath "The Witch is In". All the stuff painted on it is made of wood, and so cute and detailed. I 'needed' an orange spider, LOL.

Two years ago I started liking the Mikasa and Lenox Xmas figurines that are white with gold trim. I have some large laying deer from shopgoodwill, actually bought them last year. But they got me started on this stuff. After Xmas sales last year, I got several new pieces but I didn't open to photograph and they are still packed.

However, here are my 3 new Xmas items I just got, along with those deer. One Santa is different, he's wearing PINK.

LOL But he's a beautiful porcelain piece I loved.

These 3 all came from eBay.

This Old World porcelain Santa I couldn't resist. Its a fairly large piece and beautifully done I think.

And this BIG horse, is about 12" x 12". He's not marked so don't know who made him.

and the shopgoodwill.com deer. One time I found the set of three (mom, pop, baby) and another time a mom and baby.

All of them are large pieces!

My favs, not that they aren't all great!
The white pumpkin, the Old world Santa, all the white & gold statues, the horse, the deer, OH MY, and of course who could have Halloween without an orange teddy bear, he is so cute!

Great purchases Karen... I especially love the White & Gold Christmas figurines..and loved the ceramic pumpkin..and as yachter said, just about everything else!!! LOL..great finds.

Thanks for all the nice comments, guys. This greenhouse was a long time coming, and I'm thrilled to finally have it up and running. The floor is gravel right now, BTW. I may put something like pavers on top of it later ... and I might not. Craig's List has sites in Atlanta, Athens, Auburn, Brunswick, Columbus, etc., in Georgia. Pick one or two sites that are closest to you, and I bet you'll find users near by who are posting items that you can use. None of the materials I collected were right here in Fredericksburg. I have driven as far as 3 hours to get an item that I wanted -- the antique store doors that I'll use on my workshop building, for example. Most of the action on CL in my area is toward DC and Maryland .. which can be as far as 2 hours away (the skylights were in eastern Md.) I know it's still early in the season, but things are humming along fairly well. The only glitch so far was when the temps got down into the teens on Monday night -- my water line froze solid .. even with the heat tape on it. Fortunately roses can take the cold, so no harm was done ... except for a broken hose fitting. Now I have to make time to get DH out there with me so we can install the pool cover on the beams over head, to lower the ceiling and keep in a little more heat. I can see that hanging out here will help with my winter blues. I love seeing what everyone else is doing in their greenhouses, while everything outside is frozen. Connie

Great! I just ran across this and see that it is an old post, any new developments with your aviary? Funny because I keep some host plants in the pool cage to protect cats from wasps, etc, and often have butterflies trying to get in!! Of course I have plenty of larval plants outside the screen too so they can find a spot for their eggs. Anyway, nice pics!

It is so hard being a girl these days. Fashion, society, etc makes it so hard for a girl to be herself. This has always been a factor but I think today it is so much worse than say 10yrs ago when my neice was 18. My dd's biggest issue is her mature figure. So shopping in the girls dept when she was in 6th grade was impossible. Bras only go to a certain size, pants are made for underdeveloped hips, shirts not cut for full busts. It is horrible. So you go to the Jrs and it is all hoochy. Try to find a pr of shorts that are not daisy duke. Even the girls dept is daisy! Unless she wore capris or school uniforms there were no choices. We battled daily trying to find appropriate things for her figure. I am even embarassed to try on some of the Jrs stuff and I have the figure for the dept. I too had a fitting room incident with some rather larger figured teens. They were trying on prom dresses. My dd was looking for a modest dress for a reception and another mom had her dd looking for a modest prom dress. Then we had the two girls on their own. They put on these tube type dresses. Way too short and too much boob overflow. They talked about how HOT they looked. What was so sad was that they looked horrible, hoochy. They would have both looked beautiful if someone helped them pick out dresses that actually looked nice on them. But society and school pressure has these girls going for the hoochiest look possible. It was really hard for me and the other mom to smile and shake our heads yes to them, then look at our own daughters and talk about their dresses on them. My dd looks really cute in skinny jeans and we have come to agreement about how she is to wear clothes. My older sis thinks I should say no and not let her wear them. You really have to pick your battles these days. I have found my dd loves Aeropostale. They have the cutest Ts and they are not low cut at all. I will buy her whatever she wants at that store because we don't have to argue about layering to cover her clevage like we do with all the Ts sold at other places that are v-necked. I dread summer because the options are all camis and tanks. Even layered the clevage is always there. I must say I have gotten much stronger at saying No when it is in her best interest. I may have to deal with her attitude for a moment but I am learning to be more firm. Our leaving the stores emptyhanded is teaching her to compromise more. Unfortunately we cannot keep our girls looking like 4th graders forever. Some parents are lucky, but most of us struggle keeping our girls looking their age. Society, fashion, etc makes it hard but the battle is worth it.

Wow, you really did cash in. My faves are (no suprise here) the Christmas things, you can really do up some pretty vignettes with those items.

Wow, Karen, you really got some good deals! I especially love the reindeer, rocking horse and that (who would have thought?!?) pink cloaked Santa. He's gorgeous! Very delicate.

I love living vicariously through other people's purchases. If you buy, it will feel like I bought, and then I won't have to spend any money.

Wow!! What a great haul! I bet that was fun...

My faves are the white pumpkin bowl (how beautiful, and versitile to use all fall season) and the little white bunny with the butterfly on his rump. How cute is he? Just adorable, really.

Wow Karen, you really hit the jackpot!

As a friend, I have to tell you...that Old World Santa is just plain tacky. So in the interest of friendship, I'll force myself to take him off your hands so you won't have to be stuck with something this horrible. Just kidding of course (lol)...he's gorgeous and pink too!

I love the little lidded pumpkin too and the white/gold deer. You really picked up some great buys!

Lots of wonderful goodies! Looks like you have been having some fun. Don't you just get so excited when you find neat stuff? I know you are not a "pinkie", but how could anyone pass on that pink Santa, he's gorgeous.

Good finds Karen, now we will look forward to seeing pics of them in your decorating displays.

Hooooooooo, you're so lucky to find such wonderful items!

Tomorrow afternoon I'll be going to shop and hope to find some Halloween decorations as the ones I already found are very basic...

I found a wreath like yours, with a witch and a pumpkin but instead of "Happy Halloween" or something related, it was written "Welcome". Well, not really Halloween, so I did not bought it.

Also, I'll buy some more Fall decorations as I plan to put my Fall decorations on my Halloween table and add some Halloween items on them and remove them just after Halloween in order to keep my Fall decorations until... December 1st ;-)

Karen, I LOVE your horse! It's splendid as well as your "bambi" family! So lovely!

So many beautiful things, Karen. My favorite is the old world Santa. Can't wait to see how you use everything. I like them all except the spider. Even fake ones give me the creeps! Scared to death of them. If I'm alone at home I've been known to stand across the room and throw shoes at one!

Karen - what a wonderful haul!! And such variety for the different decorating seasons! I can't name a favourite, you have so many terrific pieces there. Have fun, moving them here and there and here and there again, trying to decide just where they look the best!

BTW, I was in the Pfaltzgraff clearance store today and they had the domes you and Karen ordered...same price, so don't worry!

Dream, good try, I thought it was PINK, but thought my eyes were going bad..never thought Karen would buy a pink Santa

I went to the Dollar Tree and Pfaltzgraff Clearance today...everything is hiding in the car until it is safe to bring it in!

Dreamgoddess, you are a good friend, LOL. But I think I'll keep my pink Santa. By the way, there is a VERY similar one on eBay if anyone is interested. Says its from 1990.

I was trying to remember what other white Mikasa type pieces I had. From last Xmas, I have a partridge big enough to fit in my hand, a Xmas tree about 15" high, a Santa from the arctic....he has a polar bear, wolf, and other animals around him. And earlier this year I found a large Nutcracker on shopgoodwill, I was very excited about him!
But I can't remember the pieces my daughter found for me at the "morning after" sales.
I think a smaller rocking horse, and one or two other items. I can't wait to get them all out and see what to DO with them. I know I want to put them all in my living/dining room.
Judith.......want to come decorate for me? LOL. I'd sure like some of your fabulous little vignettes with these items.
