36 inch gas cooktop + 30 inch electrical oven.
Comments (2)I have a 36" Bertazzoni gas cooktop and a Bosch 500 series electric oven beneath it. You can do it with a drop-in cooktop, but not a rangetop-type, where the knobs are at the front. Assuming you are looking at a drop-in cooktop, check online for the manufacturer's installation manuals and check the clearances they call for - they should list all the various dimensions, including the depth of the cooktop, and the clearance gap required by the oven. In my case, we opted to raise the countertops by one inch to increase the clearance. Alternatively, we could have dropped the oven by an inch, but that would have meant the door opened very low indeed. To raise the counters, my GC added a layer of thick plywood, then faced it to match my cabinets exactly - it looks a part of the trim and you would never know. Hope this helps....See MoreFinal question of the day...30 or 36 inch single wall oven
Comments (6)Hi all, Can someone help me figure out the difference in power and functioning in the induction cooktops. I have decided to get a 36 inch induction and have been looking at the inductionsite website, but don't really understand what power to look at. I am considering Wolf (5 elements, 2 boost) and Diva (5 elements no boost) and also Electrolux and Miele which are both 5 element, 5 boost. I can't figure out where there is power sharing and from a pure heat capacity per burner, which is better. It seems that Wolf does have an advantage in higher capacity in the largest burner (without and with the boost). But I am really not sure I understand all the implications. Thanks...See MoreWill a 30 inch wall oven fit inside a 30 inch cabinet?
Comments (8)I'm not fond of a triple stack in a single cabinet. It puts the bottom appliance at an unusable height, so it never gets used. I'm also not fond of the gutting that it takes to fit a 30'' oven into a framed 30'' cabinet. Most of the time, enough of the face frame has to be cut away that it requires reinforcing the sidewalls. I have one installer that completely refuses to do this withou a significantt extra fee, as it requires time basically rebuilding the cabinet. Each element has to have it's own platform, it's own dedicated electrical supply, (which many people forget about) and a cabinet rail between them. Even if the allowed clearances make it look as though there is no rail between the appliances, it's there, as that is how they are fastened into the cabinets. Can it be done? Yes, but not easily or cheaply. You need both an electrician to run all the new wires, and a cabinet maker to do the cabinet alterations. No handyman. No appliance installer. Someone who can take apart a cabinet, take apart a door a recut it to be shorter and put it back together, and stain some wood to match perfectly. Find the most experienced cabinet shop in town with a cranky old man working for them, and that's your craftsman....See MoreWolf 36 inch induction cooktop over wall oven
Comments (6)We replaced a Fisher Paykel gas cooktop with a 36" Wolf induction. It sits over a Kitchenaid wall oven. It was the only brand that would fit because it has the shallowest profile. That being said, we tend to use the second wall oven much more because it is easier to access. The 36" over the 30" oven looks fine however....See Moreolivertwistkitchen
