I don't know how taxcut.exe got into it, but .pps is a powerpoint file. To see it you need powerpoint or powerpoint viewer which you can download here.

Are these emails something you are expecting?
Do you use the TaxCut software?
Have you scanned these attachments and emails for malware?

If not, I would delete the emails and not bother.

We just did our taxes using the free version of TaxAct.
It even lets us efile for free. Great easy to use software.
