Thank you for posting about the silver Christmas tree. I have very fond memories of my Nana and Grandpa's silver Christmas tree with blue balls hung on them and the color wheel. I have a picture of my grandmother in a very pretty red dress with the mink stole my grandfather gave her for Christmas sitting next to the silver tree with blue balls. When my grandfather passed I took a box of the blue balls with me. My tree is decorated red and white, but I always hang one blue ball to honor my grandparents. It sticks out and I love it! Good times.

I remember Francey's thread very well because it almost convinced me not to get soapstone. But after reading the responses of others, the white water marks seemed rare so I took the chance thinking it wouldn't happen to me (and it probably wouldn't have if I'd gone with Bucks County Soapstone). But it did happen and like Pluckymama, I was very close to having the counters removed and replaced with something else. They are much better since Joshua refinished them. Keep in mind, these rings are not the dark rings you get that can be wiped off. Essentially, what happens, is that the water removes the oil from the stone (don't ask me how). You won't have this problem if you don't oil your stone and the rings/spots vanish with re-oiling. I'll repeat what I've stated in other threads on this topic. I tried tap water, filtered water and distilled water...they all left white spots.

Hi, No, thats not the one but thanks a lot for trying. Still haven't found it. Perhaps my wording is incorrect. I'm looking for a thread about mini pendants for an island, not an island pendant, which I've found out recently is totally different. Anyways, back to my original request. It was a popular thread with many responses. The granite may or may not have been blueish. There was a chimney style range hood that was sort of rectangular looking if I remember correctly. I know, there is a slim chance of finding this... Any assistance would be appreciated. Dan
