Best (low-midrange) toilet for bowl cleanliness, comfort?

So I LOVE our Toto Aquia III that we got for the master bath. Love the look, love the comfort, love the dual-flush water savings. But DH does not love the small water spot.... the bowl gets, um, dirty. This can be mitigated by pre-flushing, but I guess that sort of defeats the low-water-use flush, huh?

This fall we'll be renovating our second bathroom, and he's said "no" to another Aquia III (because of high-ish cost + the bowl cleanliness issue.)

In our old house we had Kohler Wellworths and they were just fine.

So I'm looking for a good toilet for around $200, give or take. Things I would prefer, but will compromise:

~ skirted for ease of cleaning and sleek look

~ compact elongated bowl (it's going in a small bathroom)

~ larger water spot and/or some other design feature that prevents so many "skid marks"

~ sleeker, more modern design versus "period" type style

Any advice?
