What solitaire game can I download that I can play without going on line?

I understand that there are several games, including Solitaire on every computer. Look for games under programs and then under asccessories.

Clair we bought a shareware program from Goodsol about 3 years ago. It had 500 games, I see he now has 660 so no idea of the price. We paid either $30 or $40 but his games are good and the graphics are great.

If you consider it then use the 30 day trial to be sure it is what you expect. We were very satisfied with it for the money. The games offered below also have good graphics

Not to take the thread on a tangent, but I was considering the lennox ELDV series in the 40 inch, and the dealer was pushing (not really push, but suggesting) the symmatry series. Mainly due to the more spread out flame appearance over the camp fire style ELDV. any thoughts? price difference appeared to be about $1K as we started with a stripped down ELDV vs a Symmatry which seems to come with everything. price matters, but I guess I'm waiting to see if there is a real wow factor. I supposed to see the Symmatry burning this week, ELDV I've seen the logset but not the box/set up. Also to comment to the OP, have you seen either of these or similar? I really do think seeing is believing on all fireplaces, I've seen some pretty lame looking ones in person and some really nice ones, and its hard to tell from the pictures.

I am totally addicted to Spider Solitaire. I play it on my computer and iPhone. I always play four suits. One and two suites is just too easy. Have no idea what my scores are as I am more interested in the challenge and not the outcome. My DH loves me playing this game as it keeps my eyes and mind off the road when he's driving. :-) Jodi-

I have played all three ways, but my usual is to deal 3 at a time, not changing the order. Never heard of the one time through, one at a time. I'll have to try that. One extra chance when you're stumped. Believe it or not, it is possible to win the game going through the deck one at a time, only once. Not great odds, but possible.

alisande, I found this I hope it helps. Hope you grand-daughter is doing well. Kittywhiskers Double Solitaire This is a competitive version of Klondike patience (solitaire). Each of the two players plays with their own 52-card pack. The backs of the cards should be different so that they can be sorted out after the game. Each player deals a layout as for Klondike: 28 cards in 7 piles, each having the top card face up and the rest face down. The left hand pile has just one card, the second two, and so on, the right hand pile having seven cards. Between the two rows of 7 piles is space for eight foundation piles, which can be played on by either player. Each player begins with a stack of 24 face-down cards. The player with the lower card on their one-pile starts - or in case of a tie whoever has the lower card on their two-pile and so on. At your turn you can make a series of moves as in Klondike. You may move cards around on your own layout, move cards onto the foundation piles when they fit, and move cards from your discard pile to your layout or the foundations. You are not allowed to play onto or use your opponent's layout or discard pile. You end your turn when you cannot or choose not to make any other moves by turning over the top card of your face-down stack, and placing it on your face-up discard pile. Your opponent then plays. The game ends when one player has played all the cards to the foundation piles, or when both players are blocked, in which case the winner is the player who has played more cards to the foundation piles. There are a lot of Solitaire games for 9.99 at Target and Office Max...etc.

I'm staring at two discs at the moment, that I own , one is named Solitaire 10000 and the other is 750 Solitaire. That's supposedly a 10000 and 750 games per disc respectively.

Always check the Starforce list to make sure that any game ...disc or download, is NOT on it.

Microsoft is famous for their Spider Solitaire that comes with every version of XP, and they also have regular. They are both listed under "Games" in your Start Menu->All Programs.

Amazon also sells plenty of bargain finds.

Just play a few games of freecell. It's so addicting that you won't have time for other games.

Freecell must be addicting because DH never seems to tire of it. The best part is it was already part of XP and he's offline so doesn't tie up the phoneline. Sandy

Just my advice, but don't get started on Spider or Freecell. They will suck the life out of you. I have wasted waaaay too many hours playing these games, but am currently "on the wagon". JUST SAY NO.
