jacksopcam, Having lived with copper sinks for several years and a lot of friends of mine have them as well, my comments: 1) Yes, a thicker 14 gauge sink makes a BIG difference. I've seen them in the thinner 16 gauge and they dent fairly easily. I have a friend who bought a thinner gauge sink on Ebay and ended up returning it and buying the thicker gauge sink. When I was looking it came down to two companies selling the thicker 14 gauge sinks - Copper Sinks Online and Linkasink. Since Linkasink was sold through showrooms, they were 30% - 40% higher (they have to make a profit too). If you are willing to spend the money on one of these beautiful sinks, buy wisely. 2) Rachiele can make a claim that they sell the only "maintenance free" copper sink, but they make a lot of claims... Copper is copper (unless you buy a copper sink made in China or India - then who knows that is mixed in with the copper...). 3) We do not wipe our sink out - ever. ...we just let it do it's thing. The patina will change slightly over time and sometimes we leave something in it that lightens up the patina in spots - but it always darkens again (like a penny) and we love the rustic nature. We simply clean with soap and water and about once a month we wax it with the stuff we got from Copper Sinks Online. If you pour something really acidic down the sink - just rince it out with water. 4) It is easy to try and price shop copper sinks and think that by buying that $800 sink from the Ebay dealer you are saving money. These sinks have big quality differences between them. Remember, these are crafted by a copper artisan. I was told it takes almost a full day for a craftsman to make one kitchen sink! As with any artisans, there are good ones and not so good ones. What I liked about the company we bought from is that they seem to be one of the largest out there and have been around the longest. They have their own artisans making their sinks. If there is an issue with quality - you just return it. 5) Several Ebay dealers try to mask this, but they are selling out of Mexico. If you want to return the sink, you could be in for some major hassles. To me, it is best to deal with a company that has offices and a warehouse in the USA IMHO. I can't find the posts in the archives (a lot of history was wiped out on this site), but about a year ago there were at least 6 - 7 folks that chimed in one thread about how they loved their copper sinks and there was a big discussion about where to buy, thickness, etc. Bottom line is that every person I've spoken with or who has posted on this site that has bought from Copper Sinks Online has been very happy not only with the company but their products. I would like to echo some of the other comments in this thread. I made two purchases from Copper Sinks Online  a copper bath sink and then more recently a copper farmhouse sink. The farmhouse sink has been installed for a few months and I love it! I too have had a few bad Ebay experiences and have seen mixed results. Sounds like a few happy campers here, but in many other threads I had read (and my own experience) there are also plenty of negative posts on this subject. I guess it depends on what seller you are buying from. I would never make such a large purchase from anyone that I canÂt pick up the phone and call  much less an International seller CSO was great and we took advantage of the 10% offer by buying our faucet from them as well. That savings along with the fact that their sinks are one of the few offered in the heavier 14 gauge made the decision easy. One other thing about the company, when I spoke to them this second time, I was told that they have their own "artisans" in Mexico, so that is why their prices are so good. Perhaps there are a few companies with even better pricing, but I have seen the quality differences in these sinks after extensive shopping and understand FlyinghighÂs comments about how there are many different factors to consider and this isnÂt like shopping for a SS sink. Choose wisely and you will have a sink that will outlast your home. Try to save a few bucks and you might get burned. I donÂt want to take anything away from those that have made other choices  just wanted to share my happy experience with CSO FWIW.

Hi napagirl, Yes, the corners are very easy to clean and are radiused. No matter what you think of any "etailer" or "Ebayer", remember that one of the most important factors that myself and others have found with these hand hammered copper sinks is the thickness. Copper is malleable and can dent/deform easily. The 15/16 gauge sinks are too light IMHO. ...sure, the seller will tell you they are fine, but if you see them in person there is a huge difference between the 14 gauge and the lighter sinks. I think I mentioned my friend that bought one on Ebay and then went to Copper Sinks Online? That same sink from both companies had a weight difference of 50%! This is really important in the kitchen if you want long term use and not to have to worry about banging pots and pans around without causing damage. Also, bear in mind that the ones on Ebay had a shallower depth. Again, you get what you pay for. ...just my $0.02... As you will see if you search this forum, Copper Sinks Online has recieved a lot of praise from many people here on the forum. The other things that were important to us was the company reputation, that it was based in the US, that they had been around for a while, the sinks were from Mexico (not India or China) and you could call and get a "real person". These sinks take a little more time to research than others since even copper sinks from Mexico have vast differences in quality/workmanship, thickness, size, etc. I'm happy we took our time as the sinks and company we bought from our outstanding and as mentioned earlier, these sinks are built like a tank. ...they will most likely outlast our kitchen... The farmhouse sink in an a "Dark Smoke": and the whole kitchen: The faucets are Graff and very solid and heavy. We really like them. The rustic charm of our copper sink has really won us over. We dealt with CopperSinksOnline.com and felt they had the most knowledgeable people, were safe to deal with (US company) and they were the only ones with the thicker 14 gauge copper which was really important to us for a kitchen sink. ...copper is a soft metal, so the thicker the better... We looked at another company which said they also sold on Ebay (I'm pretty sure they were Great Lakes) but they only had the thinner copper (you get what you pay for...). What I found back when I was researching these sinks was that there were a LOT of differences between the various sinks from Mexico. ....and we knew for sure we didn't want the sinks that were from other countries (read the article in the link). The sinks we got were pretty close to the pictures online but I can understand how they might all vary a bit since they are hand made. I highly recommend that you read the article I have attached as a link before you buy anything. The company also put a photo we sent them in their photo gallery. ...here is one of the farmhouse: And one of the bar sink: We chose the "dark smoke" and mixed it with some oil rubbed bronze faucets from the same company. We also use the wax they recommend and that works OK. The thickness of their sinks also meant we didn't need any sound deadening type material. There is some slight waviness in the apron front, but it has not been an issue and in fact only points out that these things are made one at a time by a real craftsperson.
