light fixtures--matching finish, etc?

We're about to choose our lighting, and I'm wondering how many of you used the same "family" of lighting throughout at least the public areas of the house? The foyer chandelier we like is from a more expensive line, and we were going to go with other brands for elsewhere except for the fact the finish won't match....so, how important do you think that is? (Actually, we'll probably get the same, but smaller scale, light for the DR).

What we like is ORB (had in our last new house of 13 yrs and still love the finish). The foyer light is darker, though--almost black with gold showing through (called Etruscan bronze). Do you think that'd be too much of a difference for ORB elsewhere? The only other rooms visible at the same time as the foyer and DR are the study and the great room. In the great room, it'll be ceiling fan-only, so that probably won't matter too much (being a different style). The study will have a ceiling fan w/ light kit. We could easily use the same family line there, though.

Any thoughts for me?

Thanks!
