I'm doing the same thing, but fire proof is not a goal of mine. If there's a fire, I'm getting out, not closing myself in a room. Have the door swing into the safe room. If debris blocks the door on the other side, you won't be trapped. I'm using a simple exterior, fire rated door. A steel version will probably hold up to quite a bit of flying debris in a storm.

Right now we are using South Mountain Veggies and South Mountain Creamery and have been really happy with them. I bet you can't wait for it all to be done...I know I am, and we haven't really started yet. :)

rcreamer14: I see a lot of sinks and 36" looks right to me. If you've got the countertop real estate, get the largest sink you can. C-Tech makes great 16 gauge sinks. Have your fabricator strap your sink in place with a Hercules Universal Sink Harness (Braxton Bragg) or a Sink Strap or two from Regent Stone Products. Not only will you get a more desirable thinner front rail because you don't need room for clips, changing the sink went from a 12-impossible-to-get-at-clips job to one or two easily accessible nuts. Straps don't rust away; clips do.

I am considering the Bosch 500 Series 24in too by combining it with a 12" gas cooktop. It needs a some more modification of support underneath because the cutout would be about 36" and along the seam between the gas and induction there has to be some support. Doable but a little more work. With the ZLINE the support is there anyways. In fact even placing the induction griddle on top of a griddle may be an option, but it doesn't look good/flush.
