Hotfixes on XP SP2 after doing a recovery?

Caught a bad computer virus, got fed up after working for days to 'cure' it, did a total Recovery on my XP SP2 home edition Compaq computer, ran Belarc Advisor and saw that all of my Windows hotfixes are (obviously) not there anymore.

Rather than search and download the fixes from M/S that were formerly on my machine, is there a faster way to do that? I previously had turned off the M/S Automatic Update feature because I just don't want, nor need everything they say I should have, but I would like to be protected.

Just found a site that looks interesting, and would like advice about whether it would safely do the trick. Don't know if I can post the link here or not without getting thrown out :), so I'll just type it as: ryanvm dot net slash msfn slash updatepack-sp2 dot html

Or any other advice would be so appreciated. My brain feels fried. Thank you. Kat
