Looking for pearls of wisdom from the community on 30" KA vs Bosch Microwave / Single Oven combination Pricing is near identical and I have no experience with either of these. Pro's and con's swing me back and forth constantly. I will be purchasing the matching 30" warming drawer as well if that will influence the decision I am only familiar with Dacor and your thoughts are warmly welcomed

Can't speak about the NXR but I just saw the 800 at the appliance store and it has a bottom storage drawer that doubles as a warming drawer. Love that feature. Salesperson said it's his most popular drop-in range and no complaints.

Bosch, and pretty much all appliance manufacturers, design their different "tiers" to be mixed and matched while still having a uniform look, so you spend more on areas that are more important to you and cut back in others to meet your budget. So the answer is yes, you can absolutely mix between the different tiers. Stainless steel matching should not be a concern, they do not use different grades of stainless in the different tiers. Further, the stainless will never match between all your appliances, even if they are from the same manufacturer, because these products are manufactured in different factories all over the world and come off of different rolls of stainless. TL;DR no matter what appliances you buy, the stainless will be similar enough for you to not notice a difference unless you look VERY closely. The other thing you can (and should!) do besides mix/match tiers is mix/match brands. No one manufacturer is good at everything. Microwaves all come from the same small set of Asian factories, are very cheaply made and often last only 2-3 years. This includes the Bosch microwave. You are not paying for German engineering or manufacturing expertise here, you are paying for the look and the name. The best bang for your buck in microwaves is to either find a place for a microwave, either on the countertop, in a pantry, or a cabinet alcove, where you can just drop in another $100 microwave from Walmart if yours fails. Bosch are the worse appliances on the market today in my opinion. One year ago I bought all new bosch benchmark appliances for a new house. IN less than a year I have had 3 repair issues (1 on the speed oven and 2 on the wall oven). While under mfg warranrty Bosch tried to charge me for the repair saying "we have to pay someone to remove the oven from the wall for the repair". It's a freaking "WALL" oven, meaning it's designed to be installed in the WALL, meaning when it needs to be repaired (under mfg warranty) then it has to be removed form the wall, not at my expense. They said there's a disclaimer in the manual (which I received AFTER I bought it, it was in the box with the appliance when it was delivered). That is something that needs to be disclosed PRIOR to my purchase, not after. Imagine the money Bosch will make from repairing their own appliances while under warranty if they charge 200.00 each time, seeing they've repaired mine 3 times. This is lubricious not to mention illegal. I will never buy anything bosch ever again. I have owned just about every brand of appliances over the years in the many houses I've owned, and this was my first time buying bosch and the first time I've ever had these kinds of repair problems. The quality is badm, the service is even worse.
