Could you show me your pictures of your corain Cove Backsplash?

Thanks to all the people on my posting re: countertop for boys bathroom. My DH likes the corian best, so now I am trying to decide whether to order it with the cove backsplash (backsplash is part of the countertop). I have never seen this (just read it on their web site) and am wondering how does it look? Is it really curved? Does it collect water? Do you like it?

Yes it is really curved, no it does not collect water. The countertop just rolls up into the splash, much like a laminate countertop. I would strongly suggest coved splashes on the back and also the sides if against a wall.

Cove costs significantly more, but if you want to pay for it, I think it's worth it.

Nomad, thanks for your support! What are your tiles like? What are you leaning toward for grout? re: Antique White - that is also one of the colors in the Custom Grout Solutions polyblends sample set we have. So there must be a few brands with that same name. Here's ours, still not quite done but you get the idea. Funny after all the agonizing, I don't remember the name of the brand. The color is Silverado. I can find out the brand if you like. It might be a touch darker than we wanted, but it's probably not fully dry yet. Either way, I'm not going to second guess it now! Jodi, that is beautiful..your countertops look similar to ours..we have Mysore Black.. Yes, I realized that would be too much...So, now I am thinking of a seagrass limestone with the glass tiles (2.5 x 10) and a white travertine (I found a porcelain one that you'd never know it was porcelain). I thought I'd start them off randomly so it wasn't in a brick pattern (the end pieces would be cut...but the rest would be the same)...kind of like a hardwood floor randomness. I'd love more examples!

These are move in pics, so please, ignore the mess...it will be gone soon (I HOPE!!!) I also skipped the tumbled marble because I saw too much of it, though some of the ones posted above might have changed my mind....they're really well laid out and compliment the counters well, but most of the ones I saw were just boring squares all over, blah blah I had the subways here matched to our granite in a crackle finish. That backsplash is supposed to take a back seat t the backsplash on the other side of the room:

Thanks mindimoo! I've always loved alkuo5's granite and splash combo (ok, the entire kitchen actually!) and your thassos marble bricks are really nice! Our border tile listello for our downstairs bath will have random strips of thassos marble. I'm thinking about incorporating more of it in our upstairs baths when we reno those next year because it's just so darned pretty! Isn't it neat how many different ways there are to do a white backsplash? :-)

is neater, and makes cleaning easier. The darker Corian we got shows scratches, er, patina, much more than the lighter stuff we have elsewhere.

Thanks Geekette! that was a picture I was looking for! Just wanted to get the idea. We have a very traditional house (1920's farmhouse, with wainscotting in the bathroom) and I didn't want a look that would be too contemporary. I think the cove would be okay, right?

Thanks Tom999 and flyleft--its good to hear something positive about the Corian. Makes me feel more confident in our decision.

Now I just have to price it!!
