She doesn't come around very often but I can't let the day go by without wishing her a happy birthday.

Happy Birthday Kathy, hope the day goes just great and here's a couple of recipes that you might like. The first one I took to an outdoor picnic last summer and it was a big hit. You don't have to worry about it getting rancid in the heat, either. CORN CHIP CRUNCH INGREDIENTS * 2 bags corn chips (8.75 oz.) * 3 or 4 cups dry roasted peanuts (or any salted nut you prefer) * 6 cups Golden Grahams cereal * 1 cup packed brown sugar * 1 cup dark corn syrup * 1/2 cup butter DIRECTIONS In a large heatproof bowl, combine corn chips, peanuts & Golden Grahams. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Pour over corn chip mixture; toss to coat evenly. Transfer to a greased 15-in. x 11-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 250 degrees F for 45 minutes; stirring every 15 minutes. Spread onto waxed paper; cool. Break apart and store in airtight containers. Sweet and salty, shiny & pretty. Easy and different! The other recipe is my Tuna Salad. I noticed you might be tired of your version, Kathy. Try this one. A maid for some really rich people gave me this recipe about 35 years ago and I've made mine this way ever since. And I never have any complaints from others either. Tuna Salad Several Cans Tuna (drained) Finely Chopped Celery Finely Chopped Apple Chopped Sweet Pickle Cubes (not pickle relish!) Mayonnaise to taste The apple gives it the best flavor! Well I was pretty positive I responded to this yesterday so I don't know what happened but here goes again! Hi Bob, I figured out what might have happened to your post. This is Cyberspace right? Well it is probably out there floating around somewhere, where everyone can see that I had a birthday. At least my age isn't floating around with it, that's one good thing. "LOL" Thank you for the birthday wish, and for the many more yet to come. I plan on sticking around for a long long time. "Smiles" My sons birthday is 4 days before mine and he had a BBQ and had us over with friends and relatives. We went to the movies to see the new batman movie Dark Knight and then we went to the grocery store to pick up some items for the party. My dil bought a cake and when I saw the cake she had put Happy Birthday with both our names on it. I was surprised. My dil brought out two candles that played happy birthday & everyone sang happy birthday to us and when it came time to blow out the candles my son took one candle and I took the other one and at the count of three we both blew out our candles. Bob, Ken, Joyce--it just makes one feel so good to have birthday greetings from old friends. Thank you.
Sorry I am late in replying, but we were gone for a few days.

Joyce, I tried to send you an email not long ago and it was returned. I think my ISP has had some trouble with being named a bad one or something--they assure me they are working on the problem. As of now, I also cannot email anyone with a Hotmail Address from my personal ISP. I am not even sure if I have the right address for others. I did try to send Bob an email not long ago too (about some cute doggies--what else--lol)and have no idea if he received it.
Ken, I sure do hope that you are enjoying good health.

I don't get on line near as much anymore. Harold took early retirement and we "Go go go". no grass has ever grown under his feet and now he takes me with. I still miss my on line friends, but we do have fun..

I read on-line, but often times am not home when I do so and don't have the time to post or anything. I have been trying to update my Yahoo Address Book, so maybe I can send a few emails out when I am not home. Now I know this sounds silly--but even though I have my laptop with me most of the time. I forget to update my address book on it and then forget my passwords for different sites. LOL Could it be that I have had a few to many birthdays? LOL

This summer has been extra bad for me to be on the net, because if we have been home, I still have not been able to use my computer much because of all of the thunder and lightening. We live not far from the Mississippi and Iowa and all the flooding.We have been blessed with the good fortune of not having flooding, but the weather has been quite stormy!!!

Our city did have a boil order for a few days because we pump our water from under the Mississippi and the pumping station was flooded. But hey--I count my blessings that I had a roof over my head and a stove to boil it on. It was not a problem. So many people have lost everything. It is so very sad.

One again, Thanks for the wishes folks. It's good to see you all.
