Halloween/Fall Porch Decor ...Vine Tree is Up!

Worked on the porch decor some today ...not finished yet but wanted to share some pics...here's the wood blocks from our good friend, Luvs, here on the Holiday Forum...she made them:

Here's a close-up of a witch that I bought many yrs ago from a teacher-crafter...it has hung in my kitchen for yrs but I moved it to the porch this Halloween season:

My fave ...the Vine tree this evening...some of my bulbs have burned out so I need to add a new string & I have orange bulbs sitting under it to shine thru:

And this old dresser/cabinet nearby in the corner ... a rug for the top & these 'chicks' (of sorts) were $1 ea @ a church GS a few yrs back...they are pretty cool!

...and the same old, old lamp that my DH made in high school (not the shade tho) ...Fall is here!

Everything looks wonderful, as always. I have loved your vine tree for so many years, and all the ways you decorate it. And your porch for that matter.
Luv's blocks always make me smile, especially the cat one.
They are all so darn cute. And those colorful, sweet lil' chickens are just right for Fall.

It all looks fantastic, Jeanne! I love the little string of pumpkins held by the witch. lol! LOVE your vine tree too, of course! Just noticed your "candy corn" lights! WOW! And that's a GREAT idea to tuck the lights inside the tree! I wanted to mention that I read on-line that you can paint regular green-corded strands to any color you want (e.g., brown). They didn't say what kind of paint to use. Any thoughts?

I had a difficult time getting a picture of my front porch decor because of the way it is located behind the shrubs or around the corner from the other end, but here's a couple of pictures, such as they are. When I Googled to try to find info on them, I found this site ...so it looks like they're grown in San Diego Co. luvs...I'm sure you were thinkin' of ways to 'craft' one! ;-) party...I just to my tape & measured...you are close...I get 41-42" ht & about 19-20" dia. Gosh, that is cool that you are making one...I did a vine wreath from some growing in our trees today ...just wrapped it round & round & wired it tog ...I can't imagine doing this type of tree! Kudos to you! Thanks all! Possibility of flurries here tomorrow...another big change in the weather! Beautiful 70 today so was outside most the day! Jeanne S. laurience - I live in southeastern New Hampshire (northeastern US coast, I don't expect Canadians to know American geography, especially the puny little states! :-)). The cats are really kind of freaky in person, they're black rubber with glow-in-the-dark eyes and quite disturbing looking in a funny way. I got them from a mail order catalog called Oriental Trading Company along with the bird perched on the pumpkin (which came in a pair but I couldn't figure out what to do with the second one so it's perched on top of my TV LOL) and the temporary tattoos we're giving out to the trick-or-treaters. I could have spent a LOT more money on decorations there, they had a lot of very nifty things, but I had to behave myself this year. alex9179 - DH laughed like crazy when I came back from Walgreens with the bat. It was only $5 and Oriental Trading was out of stock on the nicer bats I wanted, so I figured what the heck. I'll be wanting to trade places with you down there on the Gulf coast come 'round February, when fall color is a distant memory and chipping ice off the windshield is getting very, very old!

I have a carport (who in the South doesn't?) attached to my house. I refuse to let my hubby put a car in there though because I use it like an outdoor room. I put a pretty light fixture in the ceiling and I got an old, not-good-enough-for-indoor oriental rug to cover part of the poured cement floor. Where we live it's between two mountains so the ground is really hilly. The front part of the carport is at ground level and it's about 2 1/2' off the ground at the back side, which contains the door to my mud room. It's really cute and cozy out there. I have a rustic loveseat and an early American end table out there. I use four strings of Hallmark Boo Blinker pumpkin lights to string around the outside edges of the room and the two support pillars I cover with cornstalks. Then I put pumpkins and three big (10") pots of mums at the bottom of each cornstalk pillar. I buy all different color mums. I think it looks nice with the variety of colors instead of sticking to certain ones. Then I get two bales of hay and use one to make a scarecrow (and my hubby's old jeans and flannel shirt) and the other for the scarecrow to sit on. His head is a pumpkin. I also have other cute little Halloweenie decorations sitting around and then after Halloween is over I bring in the ones that are very obviously Halloween and leave the rest out there till Thanksgiving. (Don't get me started on the rest of the house we'll be here forever!) Then like a couple of big overgrown kids on Thanksgiving weekend my mother-in-law and I spend the weekend taking down the fall stuff and putting up the beginning of the Christmas decorations. :)

party ... no ideas on the painting ... on electrical stuff..I don't have a clue. I have 2 acorns ornies ...b'day gift from a friend a few yrs ago ...they are that glass stuff like Christmas ones...the light is shining from behind it.

The glass acorn ornaments are darling! That's what I thought they were at first, but the apparent light source convinced me otherwise. lol! I'll bet they were made in Germany... maybe Austria. It looks like it was dipped in chocolate. yum. :)

Guess what! I have your witch's twin:

Mine is flying above the sofa in the living room. Once again, an example of great minds thinking alike!!

Your vine tree looks fabulous as always!! Those candy corn lights are too cute!!
It is so cool that you have a lamp from when DH was in high school. That is a treasure and an heirloom for sure!

I can't get my tree lights to show up in photographs. How do you do that? The orange ones underneath are very clever.

The acorn trinket box is darling. All your decor is gorgeous and so well placed for impact.

Ohhh, your witch is very cute, candy... blonde hair! My witch has flown by the fridge wall many yrs but flew to the porch this season!

candy...I didn't use 'flash' in these pics ... a 'twilight' low-light setting but the overhead ceiling fan light was on ...so the little tree lights show up.

Jeanne, always enjoy all your decorating. Love it that you and Candy have the same cute Witch. Luvs hasn't showed us any new blocks so lucky you to have a set from her.

Your vine tree really sets the stage for decor at your home. I seen my vine mailbox the other day when I was out in the shed. Don't know why I don't seem to enjoy it like I should. Will try to bring it in this year to enjoy for a change.

Love it that you have DH's lamp he made in school too. Are those chicks wood or paper? They are pretty. The candle holders look great with this vignette.
