After 6 months, it isn't pretty anymore is it Judy?

Hopefully it's all melted by now.

(the other) Judy

No change of it melting today. It never got warm enough. It was a real wet heavy snow so it will take a few days.
I am so sick of winter!!!! haha
JudyB

Judy I could post the same picture of my backyard. The only ones loving it right now are the dogs!

Bob

I have to admit it looks pretty. Things were getting awfully brown and dirty looking. But it will again in a few days when it all melts. haha

Yeah just like my backyard. The dogs do make a mess of it this time of year and it takes me a bit to get it right again.

Bob

Did you check to see how many inches you got? I am soooo happy that we are not getting anymore snow or ice, but now we are having to deal with thunderstorms. Ugh! If it isn't one thing it is another for sure.

Flooding has been a major problem for those that live in a flood prone area. We are suppose to get rain/thunderstorms on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday is suppose to be dry, then the storms come back on Thursday and maybe Friday. What we don't need is more rain.

Haven't been here for awhile so was just surfin. around. I had to laugh when I read this because our heat index today was 113 degrees F. It is so muggy, everything is wet. Humidity is still over 85%.

And I know the snow will come again next winter!!! ;-)

Thank God for air conditioners!

Never thought I would see the subject line "Snow" at the start of August! lol

Bob

Are you kidding Bob? It's so hot here that when I saw the word snow, I clicked on it thinking maybe "mind over matter" would help. LOL

More bad thunder storms early this morning. The cat didn't come out until 3 pm today. Poor baby is so frightened of the thunder.
Good to see you.
Arlene

I have heard over this way all of the bad weather that you people in the Midwest have been having. It seems like it never ends. Luckily over this way we haven't had an really serious storms. One of dogs... Keiko isn't to fond of thunder or even fireworks... this year was especially rough for those.

Bob

Hi Arlene,

We had a heat index of 111, in bowling you are in the S. House. Ha!
When I saw the post snow, I thought Judy is having snow in August? "LOL" I looked at the date then noticed it was from March.

We've had some pretty good storms here as well. Today we had thunder and lightening but no rain but we didn't need anymore rain, it has flooded in several areas around St. Louis. Did you happen to see that reality show Farmer wants a wife? Well that is only about 15 miles from where I live in Portage Des Sioux. It was one of the places that flooded and his farm was involved in the flood. Then a place called Foley flooded and some nearby areas there. There was a lot of flooding around near those areas close to the Mississippi River.

If you didn't see the show just google Farmer wants a wife and you will find it on YouTube there. Just play it and it will show the area where it was filmed.
In google you should find this in YouTube - Farmer Wants A Wife Supertease!just scroll down until you find it. I didn't know if I was allowed to post the link to it here or I would do so.

Arlene you have to stop trying to trick us with snow. "Smiles" Hey, I know it is hot but after last years and part of this years snow and ice, I don't even want to think about it. "LOL"

Joyce

It's not snow, but we have definitely had a cool front move in and it feels great! Bob and Joyce, the storms in this area have been plentiful all year. But in our immediate vicinity, we have been blessed with just lots of rain and thunder and lightening and no real damage like some of those not far from us have had to endure. The worst we have been affected is that we had to boil water for a few days.

The whole stretch of the Mississippi from way up north to down by you Joyce has had devastating floods this year. We have been so very lucky to remain untouched.

It was only a little over a week ago the big bridge at Burlington Iowa was finally opened to traffic over the Mississippi. The small town of Gulfport IL. was totally underwater. The river reached a depth it has never even been thought to reach before. People who live in that area have lost everything, homes and jobs, pets and farm animals. It is a very tragic situation. We have had several families move to our town because at least we do have houses, electricity etc. It's a long drive to work if they do have a job and the gas prices arn't helping any of them.

But the people around here are a proud bunch and determined and little by little you see them getting their lives back together. I know it can't be easy for them and I pray for them.
