jenn air oiled bronze kitchen appliances for my tuscan kitchen?

Hello, advice needed! New home construction underway! Here's my vision! Tuscan kitchen..heavy texture on the walls, cream distressed and glazed cabs. with a medium wood tone island with corbels. Medium tone set of back wall cabs., with giallo rio satin granite, acaia hand scrapped distressed floors. I don't care for stainless and will have ORB fixtures and hammered copper sink, and ORB lighting fixtures, So do I go with the Jenn Air oiled bronze appliances? or are they too much of a contrast to my cream cabs.? I want a warm overall feel, No chrome or silvertones anywhere elso in the house. Also not a fan of black or white appl. Thanks for your time!!

I think your vision sounds terrific. The bronze would look great, and if it was too much matchy matchy you could also get either the refrigerator or DW with a panel.

It sounds like you've carefully thought through your design and I think the bronze finish sounds perfect. I love the Jenn-Air design.

I thought oiled bronze was on the way out on faucets and light fixtures?? I'd also predict that stainless steel appliances are due for an exit to join black, avocado and harvest gold in the graveyard. My crystal ball guess would be multiple choices for colors. For example, Bluestar offers 190 different colors in three different textures and seven metallic textures. That would be for the high end, of course. On the low end, who knows? They tried to keep it cheap (for them) by taking a new color and giving it an upscale name (e.g. grey becomes 'slate') but that hasn't taken off. Because of warehousing, shipping, availability, etc., only a few colors could be offered and placing a bet on a small set of colors is risky but could have a big payoff if it takes off. Two thoughts: Since no one else confirmed joboxes, I just wanted to confirm that the two inch notch is required to be cut in the counter. I was surprised that the original installation (the hole for the cooktop and popup) was cut on site rather than at the granite place. It is cut with a high speed grinder saw. It appears to be a risky opperation but the installers didn't seem to worry about it. Second: admittedly I don't do a lot of high heat searing or other roaring flame cooking; but I don't use the vent very much. It does work to catch too hot oil smoke and some bacon type spatter, but I think it misses some on the front burners anyway. I am very surprised that I don't notice that the ceiling (or pendant lights) is covered with gunk after 5 years. My point is that if you perform expressive high heat cooking, that a real, ugly overhead hood would be wiser; AND if you don't, perhaps a vent is unnecessary.

Yikes, some harsh words! I think it can look nice. I saw a kitchen in a recent kitchen magazine and they blended nicely with dark stained cabinets and a green subway backsplash. Everyone has different tastes so if you like it, that's all that matters.

There was another thread about these a while back, but I'm too lazy to go find it. Anyway, I saw them at an appliance store, and I didn't really like them that much even though I'm a big fan of ORB. They sort of looked like SS that someone dry brushed brown paint on. Just for fun, I asked how much they were. The appliance salesman said "you don't want to know". I was buying the exact same refrigerator in SS, so the upcharge on the finish must have been huge. I saw the fridge in another store, too. Neither store had sold a single item in that finish. I do like that coffee maker, though!

A Tuscan kitchen with ORB range sounds perfect. I like the idea of a copper sink. Having one item like that a bit different will keep it all from going matchy-matchy with the light fixtures and door knobs.

I hope you post photos of the finished kitchen. It sounds unique.

I kept hearing, more than 5 years ago, that the next new "Trend" or whatever you would like to call it, would be "Copper Appliances"--it looks likethey are getting closer with the "Oiled Bronze" now. We would have gone with copper appliances for the ones that aren't panelled (DW & Fridge) had they been available, not cause they "Might have been the coming trend" but we just like copper. All our Switch plates are copper, as is our faucett and the light above the sink---Anyway,We will be
anxious to see them.
I don't know if you saw the thread about the "Floating Glass Jenn-air Appliances, and the problems the user was having, I suspect Your's are Jenn-air's Latest?
Couple ways to protect yourself here.
First buy from a dealer you know and Trust, and try to get a committment that "They Will Stand Behind Them"--Maybe they offer Service Contracts?---If not, See if you can get one Directly from Jenn-air, I don't , like some others here, recommend Service Contracts, but after seeing that thread, and a few other complaints about their appliances(Excluding Their Fridges which still seem to get positive Reviews)It might save you some Hassles later???
We do have the 48" Built in Jenn-air Fridge, & Love it, Trouble Free for over 4 years now, but that was before Jenn-air was bought by Maytag--which was subsequently bought by Whirlpool.
I would also do some Googling for the Model Numbers you are interested in, see what kind of luck other folks have had.

I have distant in-laws that live in Tuscany, and if you want a REAL Tuscany-style kitchen, it would have to be about 6 x 9 ft with a noisy 12 cubic foot white De Longhi refrigerator. :-)

Yours sounds much more inviting--good luck and have fun!
