Kerdi questions?

We are doing a new build. It is a one-story slab on grade with radiant heat in the slab. We are planning a 4Â 6" x 7Â curbless shower. Our GC has had a couple of bad experiences with the tile installer we were planning to use so we are interviewing new installers. Meanwhile they are about to pour the slab. From searching past posts it seems that the Schluter/Kerdi system is highly recommended. I would like some help on what to request from the GC/concrete guys if I havenÂt lined up an installer before the slab is poured.

From the Schluter site it looks as if I should purchase a Kerdi drain and have it set in the slab flush with the surface. Do I have this right?

I find recommendations both .25" per foot and .125" per foot pitch to the drain. Intuitively it seem that the steeper pitch would provide better drainage. Is there a down side?

Is there anything else I should ask them to do?

Thank you for your help.
