I checked High Country Roses and their plants are own root. I recommend The Prince be grafted. I got my plant around 2010 from Palatine and it's grafted on multiflora. It was a slow growing plant until I moved him to a spot he liked more, and his progress has been slow and steady through the years. The Prince is now a large nicely shaped shrub. He's been blooming since May, but is now taking a rest in our hideous heat. It's the first time I can remember The Prince pausing his bloom much. Diane He starts very dark. The heat wave starts and he lightens up some. The heat is too much, and he orders his men to dry up. He likes to do the two toned thing. This is from 2023. I don't know what brings it on. He's been single toned this year.
