Air/bubble tub in tub/shower combo?
Comments (1)We went with an Americh Turo tub. It was the only one that was 18 inches high, instead of the 20-22 typical of tubs that have the whirlpool features. This tub can also be ordered with a whirlpool, but I didn't look into that since we wanted a plain tub. So far, it's working out well as a tub and shower combo. However, it does feel deep if it were filled to capacity - I may worry if I had small children (but, I don't have kids, so I'm not sure at what age I would feel comfortable)....See MoreSoaker Tub vs. Air Bubble Tub?
Comments (12)The Bain Ultra tubs (and I would think most airbubble tubs) are very low maintenance unlike many whirlpool tubs that need monthly cleansing cycles. Resale-wise I think alot of people are looking for a master bath with a tub that does something therapeutic, so I don't think it matters if it's air or whirlpool. If you're not worried about resale, I would say do what you feel is right for your lifestyle. Having the air gives you the choice of using the tub as a soaker or as a therapeutic option if your back is hurting, you've pulled a muscle, etc. With the soaker, soaking is the only option you have. I personally, like to leave my options open. Just my $0.02....See Moreair tubs review
Comments (5)We have the Zuma CD7236 - similar specs to the Racheal. Ours is plenty big for 2 with an inside width of 30 inches. We have the HS Rosemarie in the kids bath - it is a very pretty tub and nice interior size for a 32 x 60. After living with 60's era shallow tubs I wanted only tubs big enough for any adult to have a nice soak! It is not an air tub so I can't speak to that. We narrowed between the Bain Ultra and Zuma - had problems with the controls of the BA at a hotel and chose the Zuma - my sister has had one for years and loves it. I realize that did not really answer your question - but perhaps something in the post is useful ;-)...See Moreany problems with air tub in shower/tub combo?
Comments (3)Do you have a specific tub in mind? We have a Bain ultra air tub and I couldn't imagine showering in it every day. The acrylic bottom along with the added height of the side.... to me it seems like an accident waiting to happen. I guess it would depend on the height of the tub you had in mind. In regards to the automatic air purge, it only happens after the air cycles off. You wouldn't be turning the motor on when you shower so the automatic thing wouldn't happen....See Moreigloochic
