Drainage really matters for Haws. grown indoors, I've had mine lose roots once or twice (not this one). Above shot is the cleaned up version of this find I made at a BBS, something like $3.99 like OP's find. The actual find as I found it. Some real gems out there, if one looks closely, gets lucky & learns the delivery days of the BBS. Then one can get there fast enough before they incur bad care. Sorry Nancy (OP), I don't know much about crests of that. I've seen crested Ech. & Aeoniums, not so much of Sedum or Grapto. 'Rare' I think is often overused online, more like a marketing ploy, to try & sucker folks in that the plant is something distinct & unique.

You're unlucky btw: I ventured into the same forest with my girlfriend this time yesterday, so I could have tried to do whatever youwant me to because...What is scionswood? I want to learn an English word thats new to me :-) Another possibilty could be to enter the forest and get some seedlings from beneath the tree but of course success is not guaranteed, certainly not copaired to a graft. Seedlings is easy: first of all there are thousands and thousands of them. You stumble over them and really must be carefull not to tremple hundreds of the down. The soil is very loose, you can get them out without damaging the roots too much or even really. Without any tools you can get the smaller ones out. My grilfriend nd I wnet to a coiuple of forests. It is not really her interest, but even she was really excited about this forest or this part of the forest. Kuinderbos revisted,now in the right place: Picea Sitchensis is dying here, I though because of the green spruce aphid.No North American undergrowth too be seen: such a lot of bramble.. We struggled with plant labels as we grew. We did hand printed, then got an adjustable type stamp and water-proof ink (which was not very sucessful) then found the golden ticket. There is a company called Online Labels that sells waterproof inkjet labels that work like a dream. The labels stick great and the printing stays on and readable even when wet (there are some pot stickers outside now that have been there since last spring and still look great. We use OL25 for plastic plant stakes - the labels are 1/2" tall and 1 3/4" long and fit perfectly. They have free templates on the website for Word and several other programs. They worked so well that we now are using the same type of labels on our cider jugs (albiet in a much larger size). One trick I have found is to change the print quality setting on your printer to draft. On normal print my printer put out too much ink and the labels had to sit overnight and dry but in draft they did not. Here is a link that might be useful: Plant stake labels

dd70--I had that exact same problem when I tried to use the planner at Ikea's site and suspect that it's my computer. I have an older computer & only 1 gig of RAM. (Computer replacement after the kitchen!) After that happened, I just went back to doing it the old fashioned way--on graph paper. Then, I went hi-tech ;) and used one of those Dritz folding cardboard thingees that home sewers use for laying out fabric & patterns. I cut counter runs out of colored paper, appliances out of another color, etc., used push pins to hold stuff in place. Worked out great because it was so easy to move stuff for alternate lay-outs. It's like a super big piece of graph paper. Anyway, to be more clear, I was talking about the pdf floorplan & elevation files as a resource of useful information (visualization wise) and did not even realize that the Merillat had an online 3D planner until perqqderqq mentioned it!
