Please help me choose kitchen paint color!
Comments (1)This may be too late but in case you haven't picked a colour yet have a look at BM Collingwood. It is a nice gray that is not too cool nor too warm and may work well with your countertop....See Moreanyone willing to help me choose a red paint? please vote!
Comments (7)I would never step in between a red freak and her paint chips. Any of them will work, I'm sure, but the middle one is definitely more "cherry"/blue on my monitor. I've got "burnt terra cotta" by our local Hershfields (Minn.) paint company. Brownish red without the tomato aspect. You've probably seen it in my postings. It's working well. I'm finding that it is more forgiving and relaxing than "real" red. Even in my old supposedly red kitchen, the reds were in the flooring, the sink, and the decorative pieces but the walls were linen wallpaper; this is my first red paint kitchen. It's funky and it's happy. Have fun stormin' the castle! fyi if you've never seen the "red freaks" thread from last year, you might see some red kitchens there that have eluded you. Comments (33)The concepts of color "depth" and "complexity" might be the most difficult to pinpoint and explain. Deeper, depth, complex are words that get tossed around a lot. No one wants a Plain Jane paint color when "complex" sounds like it would be so much prettier and better, right? These descriptions of color are about nuance. Nuance is not the same as LRV. Lightness value (LRV) and grayscale value (usually 10 gray squares) is where most people get confused. And, really, it is understandable. They're both scales of gray squares - but the gray squares are not the same grays. LRV and grayscale are inextricably tied but are distinctly different parts of color that can be measured and plotted separately. LRV is measured by device. Grayscale is a visual assessment. I just answered a question on the Paint forum that's similar. I think the images included help illustrate the difference. Here is a link that might be useful: LRV and Nuance...See Moreplease help me choose a paint color for my kitchen, please!!!!
