Some species of phal do keiki like mad. But it's funny you bumped this thread today. I was going to look for it to bump, too. My P Salu Spot that I mentioned earlier on this thread that put out two small leaves in a few weeks last summer after a long bloom that only now were starting to lengthen and that nevertheless was healthy, with good roots, and quite a vigorous plant all around has a spike several inches long on it. Just saw it last night. So if yours is Super-Phal, I think I'll call my Salu Spot "Satisfactory Phal" -- not Super, but very good indeed :)

Most such problems go back to what was or wasn't done when planting. The root ball must be opened up before planting. If container grown, the roots are becoming root bound by the container. The root ball must be moist before planting. If not, it must be soaked before planting. The site must be amended with good acidic soil and provide good drainage. Without good drainage, most azaleas won't live very long. A raised bed will help provide good drainage in clay soil regions. Your soil must already be acidic if you are getting good green leaves, not yellow leaves. Azaleas must be kept slightly moist during dry periods. A good mulch layer will help achieve that. In Texas where the sumer sun can be severe, shade is necessary on many varieties. I am not sure how sun-tolerant Formosa is. I areas like Texas, be sure not to water with alkaline water. Usually rain water is good if you can collect it with a cistern type arrangement. If they weren't planted correctly or in a good location, you can did them up and replant them correctly in a good location. Just be careful not to damage the small roots too much. The small roots are the ones that the plant uses for water and nutrition. The large roots are just for support. Here is a link that might be useful: How to grow azaleas

Hi, Genes. I don't have a scroll wheel or a mouse. Just a touchpad. I tried holding down the control key while running my finger in different directions over the touchpad - and also while hitting the right or left touchpad key - and also while hitting the directional arrow keys. Nothing changed. Any other things I can try? This also happens on google search pages. So it's a google thing. my other tabs - sites - are fine. Unfortunately that means that when I click on help from gmail - I get these teeny unreadable pages. Thanks. Lynn.

Tamara, are you still checking this thread? The font size seems to be stable after a few glitches this morning. Still have to double click to go back. Still have to log in each time I stop in, despite checking the box to save the information on my computer. I have the same issues using my hubby's laptop and using IE. However, here's a funny little quirk. It seems I only have to log in each time for the Kitchen Forum. I just came from there where I wasn't logged in to this thread on the Cooking Forum where I *am* logged in. And I didn't log in inbetween stops. I'm remembered in one forum and not the other. Please get the powers that be at GW to fix this mess! Thank you!
