I am debating on buying either PrintMaster or PrintShop.I will be using them for banners, brochures, cards etc. Nothing fancy. Are they basically the same or which do you recommend and why? THANKS

I've been lurking and waiting to see if someone who knows about these programs would answer. I guess nobody wants to recommend one.

I know Elaine, I've been waiting and waiting. I haven't bought either one yet as I want to hear what others say. I guess we'll just have to wait longer. LOL

Cement or pavers- which is better?

Whatever surfacing material you decide on - I prefer pavers - that is a very small area to accommodate the patio furniture you envision. 9' b 9' is just too cramped. I'd enlarge it to at least 12' b 12'.

Weekly vs. bi-weekly mowing — which works better for your lawn?
Q
Comments (4)
I live in the boonies, so I don't have local ordinances about lawn keeping. My yard is around 2-3 acres, with a couple miles of trails out back. I don't mow the yard weekly or bi-weekly. I mow when the lawn needs it. I let the little weed flowers bloom and go to seed to scatter it when mowing. If it's been dry I don't mow because the grass slows down and don't need it. During firefly weeks I mow different sections on different days to give them places to be. Today is the last mow of the year for most of my yard that didn't get mowed before the weekend. I tend to let it get a bit long before winter. The trails get mowed in the spring as areas dry out and 3-4 times during the summer- last week saw the big double wide mowing of the meadow trails. And a small quarter acre or so of meadow that gets mowed down in late spring after blooms. It usually gets a mid-fall mow to knock out the seed heads for next spring. My mower deck is always at 4", the max. I can't tell much difference between the before and after pics. The grass does look a little longer in the before.

Solid on a deck anything never ever wears well. You want semi transparent if you don't want to be out there every year redoing it where the traffic paths are.

Have you taken this question to 'COMPUTER HELP'? Go to that area and see if someone can help you. That seems to be the place to ask computer, software etc. questions. Some very knowedgable people get on that. Good luck.

Linda, What kind of lessons are you taking?

I use PrintShop and really like the program. The old versions required changing cd's, but the newer versions give the option of downloading the information and no cd changing is needed. SeniorNet programs use PrintShop as the program used in their Graphics and Imaging classes and the students find it easy to work with.

I have Print Master Platinum and I love it. You do have to change discs sometimes ( not always) but it is well worth the effort

I've tried many different programs, and love Printshop the best out of all the cheaper programs.

I have PrintShop version 6 and like it so much I bought a second set of CDs so I'd have a set for each of my computers. I've only made 1 banner, but use mine mostly for labels, cards, letter writing and photo manipulating. I've heard that some versions aren't as good as others, you may want to check at epinions.com or a similar site to read customer reviews before buying. I got my second set off eBay.
