Awhile back I told you about my friend and her love of dishes & tablesettings/scapes - I asked her if I could share her wonderful creativity with all of you and she said yes.

I told her she would fit right in here!

I'll create another post later w/some of her Christmas vignettes

Oh Jim!!! You are so right, your friend would fit right in here. She has done a wonderful job on her tablescapes and has some lovely dishes. I have such a hard time choosing which is my fav as they all have a uniqueness about them but probably the Valentine one stands out a bit more to me. The pop of red dishes and the hearts are very dramatic. The chandelier is just what I would LOVE to have as well as the round dining table. Her home looks very nicely decorated. Would love to see more of her work and if she's interested, please tell her we would love to have her post on here. Thanks for sharing these Jim. Do you get to go to her dinner parties?

Jim, I certainly echo DD's thoughts on this! Your friend would definatly fit in here with the rest of us dish-a-holics! Here home is just stunning too from what I can see. I love the chandlier, just the prettiest "jewelery" for the dining room.

And of course it is always fun seeing you here to Jim, are you all geared up for the holidays?

Kathleen, Wow!! Thats just a beautiful and elegant table! Everything looks lovely - I dont even know where to start. I love all the dishes - the serving pieces are gorgeous. Love the veggie dish in your first photo. Your soup bowls are fabulous and the shell dishes too! I really like the star mirrors and votive holders - they make everything sparkle, especially with your beautiful crystal. And that dessert, wow!! I just had lunch but your photos are making me hungry again. I have to play with a white-on-white setting but I dont think I have enough design sense to pull it off! :) I am always wanting to add contrast. Mo

Thank you everyone! I've had those placemats for years, but I've never really used them cause I could never figure out how to decorate the center of the table. This was just extra Christmas stuff that I didn't use this year, so I decided to put it all together for a centerpiece and see how it worked. Betty, the centerpiece is green glass tray sitting on top of a candlestick. I used the Stickum stuff that you use with candles to hold them together.

Agree with laceyvail and Babs about removing what’s there. If she wants a more formal, uniform planting look, she could do dwarf shrubs, depending on how deep those beds are. If she wants color/more cottage-y style, a mix of perennials, small ornamental grasses, annuals — in varying heights and textures. I think another paved walk to the sidewalk, if budget allows, would look nice and give some definition to the yard. I’d make it a bit wider than the other walkway, and slightly flared where it meets the public sidewalk. A lamp post would be very charming on the driveway side. The ledge under the left window is cute, and if it’s sturdy enough, I’d put some small, pretty pots (or one rectangular pot) on it with flowers. A narrow trellis with a non-aggressive vine would look good on the vertical white thing by the door. Or replace that detail with a post or column. ETA after seeing her location: I googled ‘California cottage’ and saw some ideas. This one has the similar ledges under the windows. :) Also, with being in S Calif, google ‘xeriscape plantings’ for ideas of things that survive drought and heat well. And ask for advice at local nurseries, of course. For painting ideas, you might want to post on the Home Decorating board ... or download a paint app (most of the major paint companies offer virtual painting) and play around with it. I love that tall white "tree" shape on the first one, very unique. They are all very nice, she has some beautiful linens and accessories. Thanks for thinking of us Jim, and tell her we would love to have her join in here too. Luvs

Wow Jim...these were special to see. Each one is done so elegantly, and I love all the special touches for each occasion. Your friend has beautiful things, and a great eye for color and design.

Thanks all - I told my friend that her photos and style would be appreciated here and you didn't disappoint. :)

dining delight - unfortunately no....I've never been to dinner party at her gorgeous home, she lives in the PCNW and I live in Chicago, perhaps one day I'll get out there.

Karen - I think she would be honored to be in the inspirational albums.

Oh, wow... they are all lovely. The valentine's one is my fav too - love that metal tree thing. The one with the gnome is really great too.

Karen - You can use Loolee for her photos.

Kathleen - here's what she told me:

Because I do the settings to store the dishes, not really for the setting. I did do my formal dining room table in a summery look with blue and white and shells and I put the sterling out.

A dish-lover got to do...what a dish-lover got to do! LOL

Sounds good to me, Jim!
I remember in some insp pics there was no silver, as they were in public places, and people would, umm, pilfer the silver...that's the story and I am sticking to it, :)

Thank her for me, Jim. I will be adding her photos, along with some other Xmas pictures I've collected, to our albums tomorrow. She will be in Easter, Valentines, and Xmas.

Wow, Jim, thanks for sharing, she blows me away with her tablescapes!!!

I looked all summer for some unique little birds to use in tablescapes, (Judith uses them alot) but never did find any! People at yard sales must hoard theirs!!! LOL

Again, thanks for the beautiful EYE CANDY!!
