I love the pictures in my foyer. On the left is a gallery of my family and on the right is my husband's family. You can probably make out the baby pic of each of us. In the very center is an old picture of each our mothers...very, very special. Wish you could see a little more detail. You can click on the pic and get a little closer. There's me in the upper left corner riding my shetland pony, Buddy. And on the bottom right is me as a cowgirl toddler. There's a cute pic of my mother-in-law doing a cart wheel when she was young...seventy+ years ago. Also a picture of eight year old hubby giving his pouty face when he didn't want to eat his mom's goulash. HA! Oh, and I almost forgot. Hubby and I both still had those profile tracings you did back in elementary school, back in the 60's. So there's me and my hubby of thirty years looking at each other as we were as children. I love these. This isn't the best look at it all, but it's the only picture I have at the moment. And geez, my walls are a version of peach/pink, but I promise they are not THAT pink, yikes! Oh those are wonderful! I think you have great vision for seeing that! Most people would probably say white matting and black frames, but IMHO I feel those frames add to some of their charm or history. This will probably sound creepy too, but I'd either antique those frames with a little black (shoe polish or paint) or I'd buy some antique looking ornate frames in the same brown tones. It would probably look nice to mat them, but I'd just get them reprinted into smaller prints through Kodak gallery or Costco and still use either the same frames or new frames in the same size. I hope that makes sense...hard to put my vision into writing. Curious to see what others might suggest and what you decide to do! Good luck--Lukki

Crazyone, there is still much to do in our living room (new carpet, lamps, end table, etc.) and I'm hoping to bring some color to the walls some day. There is an "Inglenook" (i.e., step down conversation pit) and fireplace just behind where I am standing to take my picture. It has colored walls and built in seating that I absolutely love. I just need to find another color for the sofa area that will compliment it. The wall opposite the sofa has a large, espresso color entertainment unit and a vaulted ceiling that needs some serious attention as well. So much to do, so little time. :-) Jodi-

I think nothing short of a beautiful floor to ceiling wallpapered wall will do. Then choose a color in the paper and paint the walls next to it a shade or two darker. I know, you've already painted it but either you do something big and bold like my suggestion or have all these prints and stained glass items scattered on it and it will look tacky. Just bite the bullet and do it. It will look sensational and be the focal point of your home and receiver of many compliments and wall envy. And don't be afraid to use rich deep shades in the colors you're using in the rest of your home.
