I'm with you on the disposable cleaning products. I buy enough disposable stuff and really don't want to add others.

I have gotten microfiber cloths in a bundle at Walmart in the automotive section, but recently was told there that they will not be carrying them any more. Other people here on the forum have told me they still get the cloths at their Walmarts. I finally ordered them online at the following source where I was given good service and nice rags. I'm sure there are many other sources on the internet; I just chose this one because it is nearby.

I bought a dust mop at HD, by rubbermaid I think. It's a big one like you see them use in a store. It's not microfiber, just a regular one, but it holds a lot of dirt and is washable.

I don't like the idea of disposable things either. Once you find some microfiber towels, you can put those on a swiffer (I got mine at walmart in automotive).

I have tile throughout the kitchen and living rooms - we use a regular vacuum on it. My Eureka Boss smartvac works great on hard floors. I understand a roomba is supposed to be great on hard floors too, but I don't have one yet.

By the Swiffer once, and them use the Walmart cloths as someone above recommended. I throw them in the laundry with everything else. I don't think the dry Swiffers are that great anyhow.

Costco carries bundles of microfiber cloths and most automotive parts stores have them. I bought the swiffer mop and I just put a microfibercloth on it, works better.

I see microfiber cloths at Dollar Tree a lot and also covers to fit the swifters.

Home Depot has a microfiber mop. Its great on pergo. I got mine for $10. It as a removeable microfiber pad that velcros on and can be taken off and washed in the washer.

After looking in Walmart cleaning products and automotive, I finally saw on the kitchens forum that they carry the microfiber cloths in the dishtowel aisle. Sure 'nough, there they were. 4 for $1.

I have a great machine for all types of floors. It is the Shark steamer. It uses a microfiber pad, and cleans the floors quickly without using excess fluid. This is especially good for laminate flooring. Also, there are no chemicals to use. I keep it in my laundry room and plug it in while I am vaccuming my floors. I will never use a mop, broom, or throw-away products again. I haven't found a floor that doesn't look great after using the steamer.

i use a synthetic chamois to clean EVERYTHING!

i bought 2, at 15 bucks each.
One i cut into 4 pieces(about 6"-8" square)...i use those in the kitchen instead of a dishcloth

One i cut in half....i use those 2 pieces for everything else. Truck, lawn tractor, tv screens, computer keyboards, my camera lens, walls,windows,car interiors, doors , baseboards, furniture, removing pet hair from fabrics....etc

I even used one of the 6" square ones to have a bath...including drying off! Worked like a charm. Perfect for camping.

all i use to clean is water... sometimes a little vinegar.

when they get really dirty, i just toss them in the laundry... after 2 years they still work good as new.

A friend of mine told me about them. For decades his cars have always been IMMACULATE inside and out. i assumed he used all kinds of cleaning products and wax and armour-all..well, as he stood there ringing out his chamois... i asked him how he keeps his cars so perfect...he smiled and held up his chamois...and said."This, and a bucket of water"
I was sold immediately...went right out and bought me the chamois. :)
