Delta or Kohler faucet? difference?
Comments (14)I am only addressing the Delta Leland price issue. I bought one almost 2 years ago after liking the look of it at HD. Since I could not afford to spend nearly $300 for it, I found many listed new on eBay . I paid about $125, but there was a seller who listed them new for $99 starting bid and many went for that price. I had a deadline on my Silestone countertop installation and needed one during a time when I could not wait for that particular seller to list, thus I paid more. I don't know if those prices are still the norm on eBay, but brand new, sealed with the plastic strip faucets could be bought half price or less when I needed a faucet. I love everything about my eBay purchased Delta Leland. I purchased it in June '07. Be sure to be familiar with the seller's feedback, number of items they've sold, and that he/she has been an eBay seller for a significant amount of time. Hope this helps!...See MoreNewport Brass = Expensive Garbage and Why I Love Moen and Kohler
Comments (4)"If faucet 1234 and faucet 1234 aren't identical how would the manufacturer tell them apart? Isn't there some risk that a pallet of faucet 1234 intended for Fergusons ended up at Home Depot because some newbie warehouse worker couldn't tell the difference?" In contracting for a number of major remodelling and repair jobs for myself and family members (in a different part of my state), I've heard this from multiple plumbers. Plumbers these days seem to not want to screw around buying the hardware you want - after working with them to decide what you want to put where, they'll then often send you to get it. And in recent occasions I was told "Don't go to one of the chain stores, go to a supply house". In response to "Why", I was told that the chain stores often have seconds, or for example faucet parts with plastic in places where other versions of the same thing have metal parts. Is it indeed true? You believe something if you hear it enough, but I'm not certain. How would a manufacturer tell them apart once you've bought them? Why would they need to? They're the ones that identify seconds and versions with cheaper components (if what I was told is true), they know how to keep track of what they have. Yes, there's a risk that 1234 destined for Fergusons would be sent to Lowe's by mistake. So what? There's also a risk that part 4321 gets shipped when 1234 was what was ordered. If you're hoping for a shipping error to get a better quality at Lowe's or Home Depot, you're a bigger optimist than I am. Having been cautioned a few times, that presents a choice, and I've chosen to buy from supply houses....See MoreDelta Leland or Kohler Vinnata
Comments (47)I was finally able to see the Kohler Vinnata in person in a Lowes in another town, and the Delta Leland in HD. I do think the full size Vinnata is too big for me. I was surprised, though that the Leland spray head was plastic. I think the Kohler is "wrapped" in metal, but I don't remember where I heard/read that. Maybe it was here. Anyway, it felt more substantial. Of coarse my current old fashioned black spray head is plastic, too and it has never broken. Anyway, I would like to see the Vinnata prep faucet to see if it is enough of a size difference for me to be more comfortable with it. It is actually a little bigger than the leland but smaller than the full size vinnata in height according to the specs. Now I am wondering about a couple of others I saw. I found that I didn't find the height as much of a problem in more sleek, slender designs with smaller diameters in the neck, bases and spray heads. They might fit in a smaller kitchen a little easier, or just be easier to get used to in size. Sue...See MoreDelta Rough In Valve connection leak
Comments (38)I just don’t have time to fix it. When I called the foreman, he said that it was necessary to change the valves ... I had to look for the best industrial valve manufacturer usa. I spent quite a lot of time comparing reviews of different companies (it's a pity that I didn't think of creating a topic on the forum and asking you). Anyway, now I don't have this problem. The only negative is that the accident site dries up for a very long time. Maybe there are some ways to speed it up?...See Morekirkhall
