greenwall behind cultured marble in shower/bath area

I am about to install Trustone (a variation of cultured marble ) on the walls in my bath/shower area (which currently has tile). It is a 3-wall enclosure, so there will be 3 large sheets of Trustone. The manufacturer/installer says he will install it only on greenrock, it would not adhere to the cement board. On the other hand, there are building codes that forbid use of greenrock as a backer in a bath/shower area and I read that some install cultured marble on the cement board. Is greenrock really ok to use? Is it to be avoided only under tiles?

Another question: I would like also to soundproof one of the walls - along the long side of the tub. The old tile with underlying backer will go out. Then I was considering two scenarios: one is to staple mass loaded vinyl (MLV) to studs and then hang the greenboard as usual; another is to install QuietRock - 528 is the moisture-resistant version, but it has a fiberglass surface; can cultured marble be installed over it?
