Porcelain "Carrara marble" look-alike tile?
Comments (51)Do you have a sample of the Silestone Lagoon to look at with your tile. I think you are right that it might look slightly off but it's hard to know with out seeing it in person. I also think it might be difficult to find a solid white countertop that will play well with both the white in the tile and your white countertops. Maybe you should concierge a light to medium tone gray countertop. It will provide a little contrast and keep your room from looking too white (unless that is the look you want). I think it would look better not to have too much movement in the countertop since the porcelain carrara tile has lots of movement. I posted a picture earlier in this thread showing the Carrara look alike tile my daughter used in her bathroom. She opted for light gray cabinets and initially wanted a white countertop. She shopped remnants for her countertop and was not able to find something that didn't "look slightly off". She ended up using a black quartz that had some lighter speckles in it. She thought it looked better than a solid color. Perhaps you could find a grey with some flecks of dark grey, black or white in it. I've posted many pics of my daughter's bathroom on this forum but here's a few shots for you so you can see how contrasting colors work Since you probably don't want to go with black, maybe something like Silestones Ocean Jasper Or Moonstone Would work for you. If your not limited to Silestone Cambria has some options that might work too. Snowdown White Greystone Good look with your search for the right countertop....See MoreReveal: small bath with large format "marblelain" tile
Comments (43)Sorry, I don't know off hand what the grout is. It is my daughters bathroom and I can see if the contractor left some grout at their house when I go there tomorrow to watch my granddaughter and let you know. I do know that the shower valve and tub spout are not off center in the tile so it is just the angle of the picture. The contractor who was also the tile man was an absolute perfectionist and wouldn't allow anything to be "off". He has since done my son's bathroom and I will be using him in the future for my hall bath remodel. I wish everyone could have a contractor like him....See MoreFinished White Kitchen!
Comments (72)Sorry for the late reply. Our kitchen dimensions are 13.2 x 18.5 ft and although I think there is enough room, it would be nice to have another foot or two in the width. I really like the island, it is great for everyday meals and entertaining. The lights do have an inner mesh. The link below shows the lights and where I purchased them from. http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/3/HouseHome/Lighting/PendantLighting/PRDOVR~0520537P/Glass%252B%252526%252BMetal%252B1-Light%252BPendant.jsp Thanks for the nice comments. We are really enjoying the kitchen. I replaced our bar fridge and am so happy with the replacement. I am still waiting for our cabinet makers to fix a few things and make a trim piece for the new fridge, but ahhh... it is so nice to have a functioning kitchen....See Morebadgergal, ? about your daughter's bathroom
Comments (2)Lisa, I am pretty sure that the transition piece that the tile guy used at my daughter's house was this Schluter piece: I cropped the photo below so you can see it a little more close up. It looks high in the picture but it's really not in real life. It works great. No trip hazard at all. Schluter does have several other transition pieces that you should be able to find on their website. Here is a variation of the one that my DD has. It is apparently more adjustable. My daughter has the NuHeat heated floor system under her tile. She loves her nice warm floors. I don't know the actual height difference between the two floors but if I get to her house in the next day or two I will see if I can measure it for you. Hope this info helps you....See MoreVal Nagle
