Hi - We looked at both and went with the Electrolux Icon double set and absolutely love them. We've been in our kitchen since March, so it's not forever, but they've been a dream. Cook really well and I really like the controls. Easy to figure out - and I didn't expect how much I'd like that they fade out when you're not using it so it's a clean front except the clock. The gliding racks are fantastic - don't know who's had problems with them (read one who cleaned the gliders with something which had an affect on them?) But that was one of my KEY decisions. All three racks in both ovens glide - as opposed to the one in the KA Architect II. I asked and you can pay extra to get the gliders for the other racks but if I was spending for a double set, why would I want to pay more! The only feedback I have (and I posted this elsewhere) is that we placed them above the Electrolux warming drawer for a full stack. That makes the controls slightly above my eye height - and I am 5' 11"! I don't use the top rack of the upper at all b/c even though it slides, I have to lift the food up to get it there. Even the mid is a little higher than usual but I'm tall and hubby is 6'2". My advice would just be to put them in a regular double oven cabinet - I would have liked them slightly lower. That said, my 9 yr is a budding chef and even she can reach the controls so it's not that huge of a deal. Not sure if this is a remodel/new with cabinets or a replacement, but we put a "tray" cabinet in above the oven and it's fantastic.

Is KA's "steam assist" the same as Maytag's "Aqua lift"? If it is, beware. There have been complaints about the ineffectiveness of that technology. See link below. OTOH, it may be a system that will work for you and the way you use your oven. Just something to consider. Here is a link that might be useful: Aqualift problem

We installed the Viking DEDO530 (the 30" version of what you are considering) last December. To date we have had no issues, used the self-clean once so far. We are very happy with this oven. Holds temp well and bakes even. This model does beep when it reaches the desired temp. I found no real issues in my search of Viking electric ovens. Most of their issues dealt with refrigerators and their gas ovens. We did have to deal with customer service once and they did help us. The installers broke the bottom door glass and were just trying to replace the glass which was not to our satisfaction. CS arranged for us to get a whole new door. Not sure what size cabinet your current oven is in, but we replaced a 27" oven that was in a 30" cabinet with this 30" oven. Pretty sure I would have been able to get the 30" Elux in as well as it only required a slightly larger opening. Most people put an oven in a cabinet that is 3" larger, but it is possible to match some ovens (depends on the oven trim) in the same size cabinet. Hope this helps.

I am hoping to see, at least a part of which are most reliable,(according to folks on GW) by the post I put up about reliability single vs Double Ovens. So far I have only studied the Miele's and The Elux's (trying to help out Rhome410). I was afraid I might run her straight into Miele's arms after I posted the info on Elux----so I thought it only fair to her to do the same exact research on the Miele's as I did for Elux.One thing that Antss mentioned, that is true, I have no "Real Data" in the sense of doing a failure analysis (Or something of the sort), I have merely collected info about oven failures from this site , as well as many others (Best Buy, Sears, AJMadison, Retrievo, Cnet etc etc) so we are making the "Assumption" that the posters on those sites are "Telling it like it is/was"!!!! Data on GW, presently doesn't show many problems with either oven, but at this time, we are not sure what % of users here have double ovens----Antss has asked that question in another post. There are several Sales and or Service people that post here on the net. Antss, Diegaux, Trevor, etc etc.(They have their customer Data Bases to check such info). I would ask them that same question because at least at the present time , I have only researched Elux, Miele, and read all the post here as well as on other sites about KA's problems. Hopefully "Our Guru's" will be more help than me, but if the're are certain brands (Manufacturers) that you would like me to research I will be more than happy to. If you know of a really good appliance repair shop (you can also asks your friends, family and neighbors about good repair shops, Then call the repair shops and ask them what brands "Put them in the poor house"----You know, like Maytag used to do with the "Maytag Man" Good luck on your hunt , and feel free to holler at me for more assistance--- PS Ya know it really is a shame that Kelsold "Hit and run", so to speak, at least He could have cleared up whether Elux cleared up the problem with all their double ovens or just the 27"---I suspect all, but as I have "No Proof of that" I still consider it an "Unknown" Gary
