Getting Rid of Construction Dust in Wood Floors?
Comments (2)dust between the planks should have been cleaned by your gc up with a vaccuum before any cleaners were applied. use a vaccuum. If a vaccuum doesnt work then the cleaning solution made them stick and you can try wiping out every joint with a white cloth and a plastic putty knife with a white rage wrapped around it. Be careful not to mar the finish....See MoreConstruction Dust and Dirt - How to get rid of it?
Comments (1)Our workmen do not leave the job at night without vacuuming with a shop vac or the Hepa vac. That is part of their job. We just demolished the kitchen and a bathroom--old cabinets are in the yard in the piles ready for pick-up. The drywall is bagged. Then we used our regular vacuum and washed the floors. New cabinets are downstairs waiting while the new electrical and new drywall goes up. So our secret is lots of vacuuming and its everybody's job. Also they put plastic sheets around the kitchen and the bath, hanging from the walls....See MoreBeautiful new cabinets and construction DUST..How do
Comments (5)FYI Clorox Wipes are bleach-free... Microfiber cloths are great for that job and plenty of other cleaning jobs around the house--I think they can be reused after dusting off your cabs, just shake out well, pick out any large splinters still hanging around and wash in machine (I wash mine in hot water after use and air dry or tumble on low (w/out a fabric softener sheet). I had gotten a pkg of orange automotive ones at Target when we'd reno'd the kitchen, but recently picked up a bunch for $1.00 each at The Christmas Tree store in gorgeous colors: plum, dk teal, lt teal, and my bff picked some up in rust, brown, beige. They are a nice size (a bit oversize) and decent thickness....See MoreNew to lawn care. How do I get started with getting rid of weeds?
Comments (5)It looks like you have a bermuda lawn. Do not use Roundup, it will kill your lawn. You can spray the entire with a broad leaf week killer. You can get one that attaches to your hose. You may need to spray it a couple of times. That will take care of the weeds that are not grassy weeds. For the grassy weeds it is best to prevent them with pre emergents. They are granular and are applied like fertilizer. If you are in N. TX then you will need to apply that on March 1, June 1 and Sept. 1. If you live in other parts of TX then check with your County extension agency for the proper dates. Keep your grass cut short, 1-1,1/2" . Taller grass will not be as thick. Mow low and mow often. This will help to thicken the grass. Fertilize once the grass start growing well, lightly every 4-6 weeks if you are trying to improve your lawn. Good luck!...See Morekateskouros
